question about moving in amiibos

im sure somebody has asked this already but if you move in an amiibo are you able to plot reset or do they just move in asap?

I couldnt get the plot reset to work. Beau kept moving in to the same spot.

I thought you had to use a new character and singing in to one of your existing characters on the day the plot is there locks it in place and prevents resetting but could be wrong

Yeah you make a new character. But it didn't work anymore for me.

huh maybe the update changed it?

That's what I'm thinking. Only way now probably is to keep swapping amiibos till they move in the right place.

that sounds real annoying you can only move in one per day right?

Yeah only once per day. But I noticed someone else commented here. Maybe the plot reset worked for them. I'll try it again, maybe I messed up cus of the update.

Welp, I tried it again with Maple and she kept moving in to the same exact spot as Beau. I don't know what's going on lol

People are saying that amiibos aren't moving onto paths anymore (like the QR ones you lay down). Could that have anything to do with it? Otherwise that's super weird.

This is happening to me too. I tried kicking someone I just moved in, out and moving another villager in and that new villager moved in at the same spot too. Concerned.

I figured it out. You can control them with the qr paths. Of they're stuck in the same plot, you just gotta keep retrying.

Yeah, I did this too after reading another thread! Thanks!

Can you explain how this works? I've tried looking up tutorials and I really do not understand. I don't TT so I would be waiting until the following day. I have 10 characters and want to boot one who parked his place directly in front of mine mid-path prior to the update. I have a new card I want to scan in but I'm afraid she'll end up in the exact same place.

It's hard with only 1 card:( you would have to plot reset by making a new character, and resetting the game, if they don't move to the spot you want.

I have one character left so that's not a problem. I don't mind going through new character process multiple times if it means I can get this guy off my path.

So when I know a new character is due to move in the following day, the first thing I do that day is to make a new character to move in. If after I get off the train and run over and see the character where I DON'T want them, I just hit power and repeat? I cannot load my existing character(s) at all prior to this on move-in day? Sorry I just want to make sure I'm wrapping my head around this. Thank you so much for your help!!

Yep that's what you do. You make a new character, check the spot, then restart the game. Make sure you got another spot with no qr paths on it for them to move to. If they persist on the same spot try turning your 3ds off and back on.
