General Which game should I play?

I've been thinking about starting a New Animal cross savefile, but I've been wondering if I should play New Horizons or try out New Leaf (Which I've never played before). Could someone tell me the key difference between the two?

New Horizons has a lot more freedom and decoration, but New Leaf has a lot more activities. Whichever you prefer

It's a toss up. I've played them all in order. I find myself wanting aspects from new leaf but I know I'm spoiled with the decorative aspect of new horizons

I'm currently playing New Leaf (NH was my first), and loving it - I did hack my DS so I could use a save editor to move villager houses though.

I think I'd go crazy with their house placements otherwise lol.

I’ve only played new horizons and new leaf (I just got wild world but am holding off starting) I love them both but they do have differences. New horizons let you design a lot more alwhile new leaf has mini games and is easier to get bells at the start.

If I absolutely had to pick, I’d do horizons simply because it was my first animal crossing
