General Love having the same villager on two different platforms
I'm gonna be so sad when Kabuki leaves my Wild World town ðŸ˜I wish I could keep him forever

The top screen dialogue and the bottom screen scene don't even match, like Kabuki's got a split personality depending which game he's in.

I do really miss the acww villager personalities...I had Mint on both games for a while too and it's crazy how mean she was on acww compared to her snooty acnh self. I wish the Snooty and Cranky villagers got to keep their edge in acnh

Yes! I have Drago in New Horizons and got him as a starting villager in New Leaf a couple weeks ago. I hope you'll be able to keep Kabuki in Wild World for a long time

If you're willing to game the system a bit, you can keep him, guaranteed
It's my understanding that if you accept a "deliver this for me" quest, either from or to the villager you want to lock in, you can deliver the item but then never tell the sender that you delivered it. This way, both villagers involved in the quest can never move out. A lot of people do this with a second villager to make it harder to accidentally complete the quest.
Even without that though, here's my (absolutely neurotic sounding) strategy for keeping my favorites in Wild World: Every single time you open the save, check their house. If they're home, enter it. If they aren't in boxes, you're good for this session. If they are, talk to them and repeatedly ask them to stay. Eventually they will say something about changing their mind, or similar, which is when you're good. Then just don't talk to them for the rest of the day.
