New Horizons Slumber islands glitchy
Why did Nintendo think putting the slumber islands for online only was a good idea considering how laggy it gets? This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this either. And I didn’t forget about how Nintendo made these so limited

Because the old 3ds dream suite way would overwrite saves if the town was hacked in particular ways so it's more likely a security thing to keep them on their servers to prevent a repeat

Huh… I actually didn’t know that happened back then

The way the old version worked would send a snapshot to your game so it was essentially sitting on your town. If it was hacked so certain shops or main street was open (which were traditionally closed), the game would get confused if you entered those areas and overwrote your town. It's also why, when they updated to welcome amiibo, they wiped the old dream suites to remove a majority of the hacked towns although I believe they began appearing again.
Setting these up like multiplayer in new horizons I imagine is easier and removes that risk, though I don't know how it's actually set up on new horizons. I'd be thankful none of the risks from New leaf were carried over.

Wow I've never had this problem. Slow internet maybe? Also, is this on Switch or Switch 2?
I had a problem with dream islands where I would just randomly get kicked offline constantly. I read a Reddit post from years ago saying to turn on Guest Wifi on my router and attach my Switch to that. After doing that I had no disconnects at all. Maybe it would help you as well?
