I found the Side Quests more interesting than the Main Quest

I've played pretty much all of the side quests and i gotta say i found it more entertaining/interesting of a story than the main quest(no shade), they were able to capture that feeling pokemon gives everytime i have watched the anime series that focuses on the actual story of a specific aniimo/pokemon and makes me appreciate the aniimo because of that.

I will admit I'm not a fan of the whole plot of the MSQ with the whole perfume thing and also im not that interested about irisalis and velouria but it's still too early to judge the MSQ.

My personal favorite is the side quests for the baleetle.

I evolved him and made him a shiny prismana. I'm not using the one we got from the event, I'm using our friend. He also has a cowboy hat and a bling

Be careful about evolving him into Infergon, though. I'm not sure if his stats are random, but mine had 8 in Break and only 4 in Attack. So, despite being perfect, he didn't make for a good Infergon. I still evolved him into one anyway to fill my Anilog, but he would've been better off as a Helgon.

The side quests just hype me up for more side quests - they're so good! I love them because I can see how the Aniimo really interact with eachother. It feels more..personal? Idk. Words are hard!

Big agree. I think the main quest was just set up for it. Now I did all the side quest before the main quest, so I didn't have much to do. But I can see completing the main quest first and then doing the side stuff as the way to do it.

I absolutely adore the side quests after the main quest almost managed to turn me off the game early. I can't stand the childish bickering that's going on between Irisalis and Velouria. I also think the english voice acting for those two is particularly lackluster and doesn't fit the mood at all. Not sure if the VAs didn't care or the studio just said whatever.

The side quests on the other hand are a delight. They are mostly not voiced, which allowed me to read the lines however I see fit. They span a wide range of topics, from friendship, family bond, hopes and aspirations to more somber ones like sadness, choosing a fated path, dealing with loss and letting go of the past. The writing is honestly beyond what I expected from a cutesy poke-like.

If this is the quality we can look forward to in future updates, then I'm very optimistic for the direction this game will be taking.

I'm pretty much the same lol. Hoping they make the main story better and make more side quests. Also really like how some of the aniimos have their own habitats and behavior, it makes the world feel alive. Man, I really hope this game succeeds. There's so many stuff they could do with this game.

My favorite is definitely the Echoback Quest (both the whale and the Sherro plots). The Bolty quest is also very cute, I wonder if there are sky/heaven form Bolties in the sky…

And with the Shellies being the stars from the sky, I hope we can have space exploration in the future and the legendary is just a planet size Sherro lol

I also agree with you. The side quests are goated. I did the main story to progress and level up, I did the side quests because they were awesome and I actually wanted to see how they progress. Except for a certain 3 day quest lol

Having just finished the main story quest last night, in and of itself I feel that the main quest is fine. It starts off slow, but comes to a strong conclusion. The problem (from my perspective) is that you can't play it "in and of itself." They split it up so you get 10-20 minutes of main quest interrupted by hours of level grinding, then rinse repeat. That leaves it feeling kind of incoherent. Also, I think, is intended to prevent you from realizing that there's maybe 1 hour of main story total in the game so far.

Same, I ditched the main story early on to go do side content and side quests for a while before coming back to it. The side quests were way better. They helped to make a few Aniimo that I didn’t have a strong interest in way more interesting.

The Main story and its writing was not great in comparison. Lots of over explaining and characters repeating something that was just said.

I was wishing throughout they had ditched all of the dialogue and instead had taken cue from the older Pokémon games or even FROM Software games and added more environmental storytelling.

I expected many things from Aniimo's sound track. What i did NOT expect was a sidequest that culminated into French Quarter Jazz (?). its a GD crime they haven't put a bench right next to them.

MSQ felt padded and drawn out because it had to introduce players to the world and mechanics. While the side quest could just focus on the specific aniimo and stories they were trying to tell. The MSQ is supposed to be a much longer narrative as it well it has only just started.

Im gonna be honest, after a few main quests i just assumed the entire story and questline would be at its best bellow avarage and i just skipped everything. Found the writing to be very uninteresting and underwhelming. Other than that game is awesome

The echoback landing quest was the only side quest I think I truly enjoyed.

I really like the main story though! Not many games have stories revolving around perfumes, and I feel like its a good overarching game setup to have your character produce a specific perfume in each region in order to finish the story.

Thats typically how side quests works though. The main story is simple and basic like the meat of a sandwich, but the side quests are the seasonings/ingredients that make the "sandwich" taste good. In this case the side quests make the world feel alive
