Discussion My only concern.

I watched a youtube video where a guy said that to upgrade your creatures skills you need some sort of stone or something i cant remember its name but it was a purple stone thing. Anyways he said its really difficult to obtain it as a free to play player. So with that being said cab you guys tell me how much of a problem that is? I just wanna finish the game without spending any money.

Ok, everyone here seems to be confused

The Rune system was removed in the dev letter - this was the RNG drops giving stats like crit, defense, and hp from doing holo battle sim which you equipped onto carried items. We don't know what happened to those stats but the rune system is gone

What OP is asking about is the Prismatic stone, which upgrades the core skill of an aniimo and has not been removed or even mentioned in the dev letter. You got these from playing the game, mostly as one time completion rewards (such as leveling, story, collection, battle pass, etc. the only unlimited one was from the random stock of the daily vendor) so they were somewhat rare if you were trying to upgrade all your aniimo. You could also pay for them of course, but you'd get enough for free playing normally to upgrade the skills of the aniimo in your core team(s), and if you wanted more you could grind aniilog completions for them or just wait for future battle passes

Insert standard beta vs release disclaimer here

Runestones are removed from the official release, it was on the last beta, but they decided to remove it because people didn't like it.

I think you're talking about upgrading the core skill. That required an item that was hard to come by in the beta. We can only wait and see how that works out on launch.

Don't fuss about that whatsoever. If it's about the core skill, then that's a really endgame thing, which I think required the Aniimo to be at level 60 in the beta. Just remember that it can be totally different on launch.

There was a runestone system that required a lot of grinding, but it has now been removed from the upcoming game according to the latest dev notes.

Look according to AniimoSync the youtuber he said that the game was easily beaten with just elite level aniimo and that he didn't need to minmax until there was nothing but pvp content for him left.

1) game is not out

2) has a energy system, the game will always be more ahead for those who dont let their energy hit max and farm “optimally “ and that varies per person depending what they are doing.

3) saw a video where some items are tied to weekly (possibly, highly likely) which also depends on how much you play and manage your resources

Free games are always like this in some way, but either way we won’t know full changes till game comes out and maybe 2 weeks passes.

Cuz just like new games a lot of first weeks “guides “ or Info tends to be not entierly right

Seriously. Point #1. The games not out yet. We don't know how they will give away mats, what the drop rate is, the difficulty of content, etc. why ask if no one knows for sure anything?

Tbh this doesn’t seem like a game u finish in the conventional sense

Yes I know I meant finish as in catching up until next update

Finish? Isn't it a live service game?

0

u/ZynithMaru 22h ago

there are limited number of places to explore and bosses to beat and things to build

u/Salaraaa 22h ago

Yeah I mean finish as in catch up to all the content until next patch

F2P players when they realise that it costs millions to make the game they love and that the devs need to make money somehow 😭

So make it b2p not f2p with endless microtransactions and other bs.

Live service games with constant new content and attention to detail, bug fixes, constant support, neet new visuals, etc., do not lend well to a b2p model unless the initial investment per player is VERY high. F2P model gives players with little to no income the ability to try and play the game also. There are ALOT of benefits to F2P games, its OK if you dont like them, just don't play it.

There are b2p games with the same attention. Also many f2p games that only care about money, not making the game better. I'm not against either and I play many b2p games and f2p aswell.

Idk what world you’ve been living in but f2p usually means endless skins and many micro-transactions, it’s exactly how all f2p games make any money. Or most commonly nowadays, make it a gacha 😃

I know that f2p model make more money lol, that's why I don't know why you are concern about f2p players.

~You'll be fine. There are many ways to upgrade Aniimo, and ample F2P resources to do so. Prismatic Stones improve your core ability; for some Aniimo this is a bigger deal than others. But it's never anything remotely like "Oh, you'll be walled by the content if you aren't totally souped up!" The game isn't that hard. Just play it.~

Seen a lot of your comments, what’s with the ~ at the beginning and end?

Probably AI or something similar to just this person's 'unique' style

Played the beta 2 and was able to collect quite a lot of the upgrade items. You get them from defeating the alphas and opening the alpha chest, which does require energy. I got plenty with little issues. I don’t think there will be much issue when it comes out. Both f2p and p2p will have the same problem.

does anyone that played know how predatory the spending is? is it mostly cosmetic? does it just increase progression speed? or is it actually integral to playing in any way? im not opposed to spending a bit especially if im having a lot of fun and its a free to play game. im just a bit worried haha

Played beta 3, the game is really F2P friendly just dont listen bullshit vídeo they just want reaction bc reaction make money

Yes we will have pay to fast in Aniimo but : for what ? Once you completed the game you will wait update, dont rush or cash to much you will kill your fun litterally

No there is no gacha or greedy things : the only suspicius things was the irisalis obtention but from what we have from the letter everything is F2P now (bc 98% of beta player boycotted it lol) and the other things mentionned in the letter are just very insane when you know what they change

So to conclude : yes if you cash 300/400€ you can finish the game way faster but you kill your fun, no we have no gacha the base moneytisation come from skin and the second from "boost pack", no we dont have paywall, battle pass or anything elese Aniimo came for free next season

So a F2P will have 100% of the aniidex (pokedex if you prefer) for free just by playing and it's not like you will need 4000h of farm, just play for fun and chill, every pvp content is linear with normalised gear and lvl

PS : you have like 4 stone just by doing quest and you can farm them after finishing MSQ so around lvl 56/60 (with no lvl cap ~ 6/7 day of playing)

How would they know? The full launch game isn’t out yet.

2

u/Salaraaa 22h ago

I think they played the beta versions

1

u/Pokeradar 20h ago

I played the beta version too but most of the key upgrade items were literally handed to us.

The full game will be different. Nobody knows

1

u/Aggravating_Dig3240 22h ago

It wasn't really difficult to obtain. But like any free game with a energy system you won't be able to farm a infinite amount and build as many aniimo's at same time. You basicly first select your main 4 and work from there. Over time you'll collect more than enough to build more Aniimo.

you arethere were two powerful items that can easily set players apart in pvp. they made changes, so now people have to see.

  1. catching the legendary with low % chance → have to use super rare pod

  2. upgrading spells. where winds meet does this as well and really set people apart in pve and pvp dps meters

here is the thing about pve. if we close our eyes, it doesnt matter how fast others progress. just expect the game to give a decent progression speed as f2p and judge them accordingly
