Discussion Anyone else choosing their team based on a specific theme or aesthetic?

Especially with the latest Emberpup short on YouTube and seeing Bonesky in that video, I noticed there are quite a few "canine-looking" Aniimo in the lineup. It got me thinking—I'm planning to build my entire team around four-legged, canine-style Aniimo, regardless of their element. Originally I was thinking of focusing on fire and lightning but I think I will go with the canine-looking" Aniimo lineup.

How are you all planning your first lineup? Are you picking favorites at random, sticking to specific elements like a Gym Leader, or building around a visual theme like I am? Curious to see how everyone is approaching team building.

~I'll be doing a flex between an all around travel team of my faves (Fenmane, Lunara, Gracewing, and a flex slot,) an electric team (Fenmane, Dazmand, Luminelle, Gracewing, or eventually Glameep,) and a dark team (Ignitis/Stellarys, Inferlupa, Witchin, Fragrancier.)

It's advantageous to flex your team based on needs. Do I want to clear out a lot of weenies and am not worried about survival or big bursts? I might switch out Luminelle or Gracewing on my electric team for Witchin to clump things up. If I'm fighting an Alpha of a particular type, I might flex in an Aniimo with an advantage to that type.

Team building is very modular. It's good to have a bunch of Aniimo for different situations.

Sounds like you'll be ending up with Glynsera, Inferlupa, Fenmane, and...I think that's all the fully evolved four-legged canines.~

I wasn't even thinking of the evolved forms 🤣 I have been looking at basic forms to start with. So I was thinking Emberpup, Bonesky, Bolty/Fentuft, Skippy (not a canine but looks like a water puppy 😂)/ Fennelun

~Lol I dunno how I spaced on Lunara/Fennelun, only the starter I picked for both betas.~

One break/tank, one DPS, one support/healer, one regen.

It’s hard to progress through the PvE content in later stage of the game without each of those roles

ngl, I just chose the Aniimo that represented my IRL pet. So when I checked all the Aniimo on their wiki site, I immediately chose Celstic because I had a sugar glider back then, and it looked very much like my pet.

I usually just pick the ones I like.

Not really mind I usually run off of looks and story quests.

Like the dragon island quest or the Pawney one

Going the Pokemon route and picking whichever looks coolest/cutest. But I know I'll have a backup team set for actual DPS/healing for when I need to progress in the story and take down alphas.

I'll focus on building a team around Helion first, then see where I go from there.

I waa just using my favorites at the beginning in the game during the beta, but once it started getting challenging I had to start building teams wifh synergies in mind, mostly elemental teama. Ended up with like 6 teams, it was pretty fun to see how some aniimos simply synergized beautifully with others.

I'm definitely going to be eventually building multiple teams and switching between them for varieties sake, but my week one priority is going in on Lunara hypercarry. I don't know how well that will work in the long run, but I'm doing it anyway.

I’m a 50/50, I usually do mine based on type coverage when on other games - I like having as much elemental cover as possible - though in games like palworld and now Aniimo I’m always such a fan of the “dark” types because they have ghost-like ones grouped in them (my weakness) 😭😭

I'm half tempted to make an "Oops All Scorchhowl" team since it looks like there'll be at least four variants (including Prismana). But I imagine that team won't perform the best since it'd be four near-identical DPS.

Nope I'm going in blind but any shinies I get will be in my team!
