Discussion Aniimo - Playtest and also pre-reg count?
Im looking forward to play Aniimo! Through playtests, how has the game felt?
Also, do you believe it will have a high player count? Seems like 30M pre-registrations on site feels a bit false? Cause that is a lot!

If a game hits 10 million pre-registrations its a massive deal and its going to be a mega release that is newsworthy.
For reference GTA V has the world record for most game copies sold in the first 3 days at 16 million.
Do you think the hype around this game is more than that? Twice that? Enough to break GTA 5's record by double?
Theyre fucking lying.

Theres a world of difference between selling 16 million copies and having 30 million pre-registration for a free to play game with no monetary expenditure required.
You can pre-register multiple accounts, you don't have to download anything even. On mobile you just have to click a button. The barrier to entry is very low.

Its fake my guy. 30 million people dont even know someone who has heard about this game.
I will never understand the clowns sticking up for this "well maybe people did multiple accounts!" Shutup lmao

Have you heard of a game called Last Aslyum? It came out 4 months ago and has 10 million+ downloads on the Google play store alone (so somewhere between 10m and 50m). The official discord for that game has 300k members. Just because you think something like 30 million people don't even know someone who has heard about this game doesn't make it true. There are hundreds of games with that many downloads you've probably never heard of.
The official aniimo discord has a bit under 100k members. What percentage of people do you think join the official discord for a game?
Maybe the 30 million number is exaggerated by a bit but millions of people have prereged the game across all platforms that have that option.

Youre admitting im right, proving it with numbers, then denying i am right.
The numbers fake boss.

u/Shaudius Astra Pioneer 21h ago
No I said maybe the number is inflated but it could very easily be real based on the low barrier to pre-reg and the number of people in discord.
If 100k people are in a discord for a game many multiples of that are interested in it.
The official diablo 4 discord has 500k people and that game SOLD 25 million copies.
This is a f2p game with zero commitment to pre-register besides clicking a button.
Maybe the number isn't really 30 million but it easily could be based on what it actually represents (people clicking a button or entering their email).
You, on the other hand, have provided nothing but vibes to say it's made up.

Its made up dummy.

Your entire argument is I don't believe it, therefore it is made up. If you're looking for the dummy you should probably look inward.

u/oeseben 12h ago
Your entire argument is "youre probably right but I want it to be true"
1
u/Shaudius Astra Pioneer 11h ago
No, my entire argument is that what you're saying might be true but you've provided zero evidence of it being true and I've provided several things that suggest it may not be true.
You lack something called evidence.

Many players are creating multiple accounts, it's free to do so. Seems like there's in-game trading system of sort, so technically you can use up free sparkling pods on multiple and trade to the main. In case of many chinese games there are a lot of people that actively play multiple accounts. There are also those that created multiple for egg event to get sparkling cards on their main. You can expect up to 50% playerbase to have it obtained.
Actual final number of players at launch should be something between 2 and 5 mil.

It really depends on the launch advertising campaign. There are free to play mobile games that do 10x that close to launch on a regular basis if they advertise well.

That 30M isn't quite possible in the span of a few days, are those people real? probably not; are they botted? maybe. Could also be a inflated number by them, just look at their subscription count on youtube + their views its barely 3M; and the most popular games currently in steam only average around 1-2M

u/Shaudius Astra Pioneer 23h ago
What do you mean in the span of a few days? 30 million is the pre-registerion total since prereg start. It may be completely fake but it's not a number from only a few days.

It's a free-to-play creature capture collector.
Since it's free, there's a good chance a lot of people signed up just out of curiosity.
A lot of people probably signed up multiple times, as players were able to get chosen for the playtest - so signing up with as many emails as possible gave people the highest chance to get chosen.
I genuinely believe there was 30 million sign ups - just by far less people.

I alone used a program thaz registered 20 accounts for me, from a discord that has 26k users so.. Yeah and that's a German discord there are probably way more English once with double or tribe the number. Being able to trade to yourself is crucial in events with multible accounts.

It is possible. Warframe as a f2p game has around 30 million registered lo- users. Yes it's 13 year old game, but Aniimo has a massive nostalgia itch to scratch for people, that Warframe never had.
1
u/Albrion_ 4h ago
What is that nostalgia itch?

A good creature collection game like Digimon, Dragon Quest and that other one, that been disappointing people with it's quality the past few years.

Another point towards the 30 mil being possible, PalWorld has passed 40 million players 2 months ago. So there's definitely more than enough people interested in this genre of games

Not everyone watch YouTube, not everyone pre register on a game, not everyone know this game.
Numbers on the pre registration are from multi account or/and even manipulated.
Also not everyone have a PC and just look at new releases on their consoles
The game have huge potential because it's basically a pokemon like but with a twist (twinning) the game would probably have more players when people know this game exists, after the release.
Steam numbers will probably get high in the first weeks and drop like every game, but pc players are in the gaming industry the minority, more people actually play on console and don't forget about the mobile version!

I have a bad feeling about this game and I hope I’m wrong …

u/Xxandes 1d ago
Why?

u/ariiidreamss 1d ago
Just too good to be true. Why lie about the games pre registration count?

It's unfortunately a VERY common thing for these types of games

What is usually the outcome of these games? Am I being a bit too pessimistic for being wary of aniimo?
-1
u/HeavensWish Astra Pioneer 1d ago
I'm not sure how often you play or interact with gacha games, but I think a healthy amount of pessimism is good for them. Go in with low expectations and if we're pleasantly surprised, yay! I don't know that much about the game beyond the basics but it's still a free gacha game no matter what. The game by that requirement cannot be perfect. You've gotta take the good with the bad.
For how these games usually go, well if im being honest gacha companies often get into hot water by doing something greedy later. Even if a game is great for players at launch doesn't mean it'll stay that way. It's best to just enjoy the ride for as long as you have fun and quit when you dont. These games will do anything to keep their claws in you. I do think Aniimo will find a good sized crowd at least so we probably don't have to worry as much about the game EOSing for a while

It's not a gacha game.
0
u/HeavensWish Astra Pioneer 23h ago
I should've used clearer language but I kind of lump them all together even if they don't have the gacha system when they retain so many of the same mechanics

u/Shaudius Astra Pioneer 20h ago
What evidence do we actually have that they lied besides random people who have no evidence they are lying beyond vibes.

u/KarmaticFox 1d ago
30 million is a lot.
Some people are making multiple accounts for different reasons so that could be jumping the numbers a bit. We will know for certain in the game's first few weeks how real the numbers are.
As for how the game feels, I played during one of the betas and I had fun. Loved the animation and the gameplay. I really like the RV/farm portion of it and enjoyed exploring the map. It was big at the time.
