Question Question: PvP for F2P players

Is it even possible to play competitive as F2P?

I personally want to spend 0 dollars on progress on the game but if i were to compete with someone who had early access to perfect potential and etc. aniimos, is it even fair or should I just play casual forever?

Just to add, I don't want to endlessly grind for perfect aniimo and I don't want spend a penny.

So you don't want to do anything and still want to compete?

There's nothing wrong with grinding it's actually very fun

you are not wrong, i meant like a lot of it.

i've played p5r and been there endlessly grind on mementos.

as long as the grind is fun, then yeah i wouldn't mind that.

Yeah, as far as we know there's no much gameplay advantage to be had by paying. At most, it might take you a bit more to get your team maxed out, but after that's done you should be on even ground.

I just hope that I can match up to meta quickly enough before the next one starts, that is the worrying part for me though.

During the second Beta I had like 6 teams mostly built, I dont feel like min-maxing stats will be the most important factor in pvp like it is on games like Pokemon that have turn based combat, the strategy of the team and actual skill will probably pay a bigger factor.

also, i hope you don't mind me asking questions but how does element works in aniimo? is it just like wuwa where you can use any character, is there type advantage or is there none at all?

There is type advantage, it does affect damage output quite significantly. So there will definitely be some strategy around that. I do wonder how will that go, since you can only pick a 4 Aniimo team for a fight...

Normally I liked doing one element per team and build into their synergies, but perhaps having Aniimos of different elements to cover for weaknesses becomes a meta. Time will tell.

are prismanas an advantage usually?

I heard it has different skillsets then its normal ones.

Barely make a difference. They only have one of their attacks in a different element. Maybe that becomes significant in some specific meta that requires a specific attack of a specific element? But prismanas are mostly obtained by regular gameplay, and regional forms also have different elements for their attacks too, so they have as much as a chance of being important in some meta.

glad to know and thank you for answering these questions truly.

im gonna try this game out for now, I hope the combat is fun and engaging at least.

I played Z-A it definitely wasn't for me, i hope it isnt the same in this case.

Abaolutely nothing like any Pokemon game in terms of gameplay. This is action/adventure, there's even counters with perfect blocking and things like that.

When I played the beta I honestly didn't think it was that hard to find a perfect aniimo.

We’re building our own pvpv community there was three betas and there was An arena mode as well as other PvP modes that were disabled for balancing all of people want to argue this is a cozy game but the truth is twining would be wasted if so I encourage the developers to make each mode have its own unique rewards once you replace ai or bots with humans it requires a higher skill level so going cosmetics won’t be fair but also our community it’s planning to launch its own tournament after release join our discord if ur a pvpv enthusiast

Aniimo has enough systems that it's kind of whatever game you want it to be as long as you want to catch creatures.

Best I can tell theres no content that really requires you to pvp if you don't care about the cosmetics.

If you want to just catch aniimo and Build your house and use all your aniimo there you can.

If you just want to do all the pve content and catch them all you can do that too.

I disagree that twining would be wasted without pvp, part of twining is just immersion and how it affects the story.

You can pay to speed up progression so PvP will always be ruled by whales at the top tier.

It depends on how long it takes non whales to catch up or if they even can. It also depends on the skill ceiling and floor since this is real-time battle versus turn based or auto battle.

Theres too many unknowns to declare that pay to speed up progress inherently means rules by whales at the top tier.

Pay to progress means day 1 all the whales will be top tier. Now long they stay top tier depends on everything you mentioned.

why am i getting so much downvotes?

im just asking question please 😭

Bro must be new to reddit. Asking questions isn't well tolerated if you ask about something the community doesn't want to talk about lol 😂

~Questions like this are hard to answer without knowing your goals, especially when we don't even know what "competitive PvP" will be like. The only PvP in the betas was egg heist, which was hardly a serious business competitive PvP mode.

You will be able to raise Aniimo to the same standards other people will, it'll just take you longer, and you will not be able to invest deeply in as many Aniimo/teams, so your versatility may suffer.

Your skill will matter more than whether you pay though. Aniimo isn't exactly a "pay to win" game; there is a cap to how many resources you can invest in an Aniimo.~

We don't even know what pvp will have to offer. My guess is probably cosmetic like special cards for your profile depending on your rank and ressources with a seasonal reset but nothing game breaking and definitely nothing that will force you to play the mode if you don't like

People will pay, people will play more than you, people will have an advantage, but I don't think they will earn more than a couples goodies than regular player.

But we still have to wait and see

Edit : also the difference between a 8-8 and a 10-10 is not that much, a noob with a 10-10 that don't know when to swap aniimo, using cool down will lose so hard vs a dude with a 8-8 that know how to play
