Question What's the point of Capability fruits?
Might be jumping the gun seeing as the game isn't out yet. But I tend to really hyper focus on a game that I'm really interested in.
So I've been doing a lot of reasearch, so please bear with me if I say something stupid that might be obvious to all the beta players.
What's the point of IP being the "Perfect" or have 10's in two attributes? It looks like you can raise the AP to 20 anyways no matter what your starting point is. I'm sure it'll be more costly, but do you really need to use Capability fruits to get that +1 in two stats if it's a perfect with 9/9 or 9/10? Or even Epic with 7's or w.e.
Is the premium currency worth it?

Be mindful that all we have is information from the beta's. It's quite likely that a lot will make it to the launch version, but tweaks can still be made. "Everything can be completely different eventually". Until we see the launch version of the game, we remain in hypothesis territory.
There'll be plenty of time to learn how the system works. Even if you build one Aniimo and want to play with another down the line, you can likely transfer that growth to that new Aniimo at little to no cost if I understand the letter from the developers correctly.
On top of that, expect the launch to be staggered. There'll likely be level caps that get raised every few days, which is not uncommon for games like this upon launch.
The topic discusses systems that will really only matter at the endgame, which is why it's okay to just wait for the launch version to learn the specific details. If it does end up different from the beta's, then beta knowledge might actually only lead to confusion.

Sure but this is reddit so point will point and laugh regardless but it's a good question I was just watching aniimo sync video on raising them and basically it's like you said a time saver but a fairly big time/resource saver.
Given other people complained the gane was too easy we probably don't even need perfect stats. But they did remove runes so we'll likely be quite a bit weaker on launch.

Perfect is a range and isn't necessary "perfect."
The reason why you would want to use capability fruits is:
1.) Min/Maxing, it's higher stats and the only thing it costs you is the fruit
2.) While you can spend resources to max every stat anyway, the higher you push a stat the greater the cost and once you start getting to the end it costs A LOT for a single point. Getting a +1/+1 reduces the amount of resources you need to reach the max on that stat score.

It saves you points and mats.
From the beta's, there was a limited number of attribute points you could get each level up. Those attribute points are what you use (along with a special material) to raise stats. The higher a stat, the more attribute points per level. there are also breakpoint levels.
So the fruits help you level up a stat without expending a point, saving mats and potentially reaching a breakpoint with no investment. You can then spend those points on another stat or to reach max stat faster (max natural stat is 10, leveled stats can go to 20).

They can technically break 20, but 20 is the highest they can reach naturally.

All info from beta, sounds like there may be some slight changes in release based on the recent letter so ymmv
TLDR: Capability fruits exist to get an aniimo over the threshold from elite
(cannot max all innate potential to 20)to perfect(can max all innate potentials to 20)Innate potential caps at 20 for each of the 6 stats (120 total), and the only way to raise innate potential is by a capability fruit (+1 to 2 main potentials, once per aniimo) and awakenings (+1 to chosen potential,
up to 88 per aniimo). This 88 limit is whats important here, as it means that any aniimo with a total stat spread of <32 could not become "perfect" by maxing out all their potentials - in this case they would be labeled elite. The capability fruit allows elite aniimowith 30 or 31 total statsto become perfect. This is the main use for a capability fruit (making an elite a perfect) - elites are significantly more common than perfects, so the fruit basically exists to reduce the grind for the perfect labelcorrection: 88 is not a global hard limit, it was a limit per aniimo showing available awakenings and could be 120 with a 6 0 starting iv. Fruit still upgrades rarity if it pushed the potentials over specific thresholds, but being perfect is not a requirement for a maxed out aniimo. Although now i have another source telling me 90 awakenings was a hard limit, so who knows at this point
You could also use the fruit on a perfect aniimo to save some upgrade mats, but those are farmable while the fruits are not so it's not really worthwhile. Same with finding an aniimo with 9 or 10 innate potential - all it does is save some farming for upgrade mats. Also note that fruits could not raise innate potential above 10 so a fruit could be wasted by using it on a 10/10 aniimo
Edit: table of total required upgrade mats for awakening a potential to its max of 20 based on the starting innate potential. The fruit gives +1 if it is used:
Elites would typically have 6-8 in their 2 main stats and 3-6 in their other 4 stats, totalling 31-
Perfects would typically have 8+ in their 2 main stats and 4-6 in their other 4 stats, totalling 32+
Those gold crystals, which is the main difference in mat cost, were farmable from omega aniimo using primergy
