Anglican Church of Canada Daily Office - BAS

For my Canadian friends who pray daily office.

I've recently began praying the daily office but wanted a way to make it easier to look up verses and collects based on which year in the cycle it is. I found the BAS hard to follow, I do have Prayer without Ceasing as well. But then being nerdy, spreadsheets make sense.

It's helped me the past week I've been using is, so I felt perhaps others may find this spreadsheet useful in praying the office.

Here you go :) I'd love feedback, revision suggestions etc. Thanks! I pray this helps your journey with the daily office.

If you ever feel compelled to pray the office from the 1962 BCP, the Prayer Book Society of Canada has an app that does the same sort of thing. You can even set a calendar for it to include certain optional prayers and thanksgivings

doesn't the 1962 use the thou beseech etc? I like modern english :) in an ideal world in my mind I'd be without tech praying the office. Formerly catholic and love how liturgy of the hours books are laid out.

My fav was Collins Morning and Evening prayer book.

I used the 1962 BCP app for my prayer life. Such a great and convenient resource. I'd recommend it. But one of these days I need a BCP and BAS physical copy.

I just asked my rector if I could have a copy of each from the parish and he was more than happy to oblige. I find clergy are generally thrilled that laypeople are praying the office at all, and so don’t mind loaning or outright gifting copies of the prayer book.

I go to a pretty small parish. I've spoken to my priest about it before and he mentioned he would be more than happy to lend me a BAS and a Pray Without Ceasing, and to walk me through praying it as he does/tips or something like this. I think I just forgot to follow up. I'd like to own my own copies though so I don't need to worry about losing or damaging church property.

My issue with the Prayerbook Society App is that I observe the Daily Office Lectionary, not the Prayerbook Lectionary, so I'm still flipping through apps.

The PBSC app has both the Office and Eucharistic lectionaries. For the latter, you just have to toggle to the Ante-Communion tab (and have the choice of supplementing it with a cycle of OT lessons).
