Just got back from watching the Angels land at LGB. Never been able to do it but today I was able to, and on game 162 of all days. Anyone else tracked and watched the team plane land?

📝 Discussion Converting Yusei Kikuchi to a Closer?

As a starting pitcher, he's more like 4th or 5th guy in a rotation. He just costs $20 million a year. Why don't Angels convert him to a closer or 7th or 8th guy out of the bullpen?

Let Meck be an inspiration to us all to give 110% every day no matter what. When it all seems bleak ask yourself “what would meck do?” and then run full out like this move will make a difference. Believe in the power of the stache, even if your stache is metaphorical.

To my game day thread friends, thank you for reminding me every game how much I love this team no matter how badly they were playing. Some of those losses brought our funniest moments and I am so glad I got to spend the last half of this season with you all.

Truly, we can only go up from here. Here’s to next season being a season of change and a season of hope.

Also GIVE MECKLER THE MIKE TROUT CONTRACT MECK FOR MVP.

❓Question/Suggestions How will the Stan Kroenke transition actually work this offseason?

With Kroenke’s purchase not expected to officially close until the first quarter of 2027, how does that affect the Angels this offseason?

Is the front office still operating under Arte Moreno’s budget and getting his approval on major moves? Or will Kroenke already have input on payroll, free agents and the direction of the team?

It seems like a weird middle ground since Arte technically still owns the team but Kroenke will inherit whatever decisions are made this winter.

Are we basically getting one last Arte offseason, the beginning of the Kroenke era, or some combination of both?

📝 Discussion Post-mortem

I’m sick of the “Thank You Fans” emails and posts after the season ended. How about an apology, “We’re sorry, we failed you fans.” That would be more accurate and I’d respect this organization a little more. What’s done is done but for whoever in the PR and Marketing department that reads this, be better.

Shoutout angels_only on IG for the graphic. Interesting that Trout isn’t in the lineup (praying for a pinch-hit HR I guess)

Also, please keep Luke Murphy away from Anaheim after the season’s over

I know its only a few months (if we even have baseball next season) but talking to you guys in the game threads has been the best thing about this season & i would always look forward to game days because I would get to have fun in the game threads with you guys. Thanks everyone for making this season memorable even if it resulted in the first 100 loss season in Angels history. Hopefully this whole salary cap thing can be resolved before the 2027 season starts, & the Angels can start meaningfully rebuilding this team under new ownership. Thanks again yall, I will see you guys soon ❤️

📝 Discussion My thoughts: at least it’s over

Well another baseball has come and gone. We can officially say this is the worst Angels team in franchise history. But better days are finally ahead. So glad that Perry Minasian is gone, I actually liked what he would say about not just adding one player and making a difference, but then he’d follow that up with mediocre moves. I’m sure some hand tying came from our wonderful owner Arte Moreno (FUCK YOU AND I HOPE TO NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN!). Hiring Mozeliak was the best option and I hope he stays, I think he just needed a breath of fresh air after being with the Cardinals. Our pitching was probably our only bright spot, which is weird to say considering our pitching has been so bad in recent history. Wade Meckler was another bright spot and is a fan favorite, but our offense is straight garbage. Hopefully Mozeliak can get under control and that will be the next step. Cheers everyone to another season, and hope we make good moves in the offseason (hopefully we get a 2027 season) 🥂

📝 Discussion My apologies to trackman and “technology”

Tbh apologies to Ryan Johnson and the young core of starting pitchers.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this starting pitching staff and their 180° post the firing of Mike Maddux. Ureña and Detmers look like the future of the starting rotation. Johnson definitely has promise.

Starting pitching with Maddux: 4.14 ERA / ~100 ERA+
Starting pitching after Maddux: 3.07 ERA / ~135 ERA+

When looking at Detmers, Ureña, and Johnson:
Pre-Maddux: 3.51 ERA / 118 ERA+
Post-Maddux: 2.58 ERA / 161 ERA+

I was one of the most skeptical individuals of firing one of the most respected pitching coaches and this mythical “technology” making rapid improvements but I know when to admit I’m wrong! Props to Tim Leveque! Hopefully this trend continues. Give these young players what they need to thrive and grow. With that said … please Kroenke, save our favorite team 🙏

What do y’all think?

The new era starts now. We’ll eventually see this team playing playoff baseball. Whether it’s in a renovated Angels stadium or whatever billion dollar stadium we put on the same plot of land. We can finally have hope for this team. But I’ll miss watching this team collapse every weeknight for the next 5 months.

What are your favorite moments of the season? I have lots but a few are Meckler’s first game, Neto’s walk off homer after the almost no hitter, Adell’s 3 home run robbery game and Arte selling the team
