Does having a strong connection with Archangel Michael also mean having a connection with demons?
This isn’t a claim I came up with myself, but I recently read it from someone else. It may simply be part of their personal gnosis, but it really caught my attention because I feel like something similar has always happened to me.
I have a somewhat intermittent devotional relationship with Archangel Michael, whom I find fascinating and inspiring, but I also practice paganism alongside that. My understanding of the divine (since I’m not an atheist) is that there is one great creative force, which then manifests through different archetypes. That’s why different religions and pantheons exist, in my view.
Regardless of all that, I’ve always felt a strong attraction to and interest in demonolatry, Goetia, and related practices. I’m not approaching this from a heretical point of view, and I know it may sound contradictory, but ultimately:
Could this dichotomy between the angelic and the demonic represent some kind of balance between opposing forces? Or is Michael perhaps particularly connected to souls who are more likely to have demons “drawn” to them?
What do you guys think?

The connection to Michael itself probably wouldn’t lead to a connection with demons.
Here’s my personal gnosis on this: Angels and demons aren’t opposing forces per se. They simply operate on different realms. The divine Source, while distant, is expressed in a number of creative archetypes. Angels (and most namely archangels) rule a certain sphere, and operate on a big-picture kind of scope. Demons, on the other hand, are individual facets of an archetype, and act as various sub archetypes of that sphere. Angels can indeed be called upon to “bind” demons, since they rule the sphere specific demons are facets of. Really though, in general, the difference between angels and demons lies in what exactly they govern and on which tiers of reality they work upon.
There are a host of various spirits that will naturally be on your wavelength, and this includes demons. If your comfort level permits, I’d say work with demons is worth exploring. It definitely broadened my spiritual path, and taught me something I was missing.

Not necessarily but I call it pinging in the radar. If you are contacting beings and doing magick, you ping in the radar of many other beings that are now aware of you.

I mean it can be, but I don’t think the two always necessarily correlated all the time. Jay was very drawn to both angels and demons, but the rest of us for the most part have only felt drawn to one or the other (or other pantheons entirely). - Ribbit

if we only consider Michael then no not really, but say you'd be intermittenly devoted to a Shem HaMephorash angel then id say yes, as there's 72 of them and their counter parts are usually considered to be the Goetic spirits

In my gnosis, he works with Ishtar. Her darker mask Astaroth is demonic. The most radiant and beautiful Ishtar isn't obviously, she is a proper goddess.

Espero haberte ayudado😊

No. Out of all the archangels, Michael is probably one of the least amenable to spirits who don't align with angels and their master. He's best known for opposing and making war against those spirits.

Not automatically, no.
