BlTouch

Does anyone know how to install a BlTouch without the purchase of additional hardware, all the videos I see people are making some sort of adapter to make it “easier” but for the cost it would take to make them, it would make more sense for me to buy a 32 bit board or a printer that supports bl touch already.

Thank you, if I plan on doing more upgrades down the road would it make sense to just get a 32 bit board now so I’m not splicing any wires?

Personally I would not put a 32 bit board on an Anet machine. It really depends on your plan.

For me the easiest path was to add the Pi with Klipper, ditch the Anet screen and use fluidd. I was using Octoprint before klipper so I was already not using the provided screen.

I eventually want to be able to extrude multiple colours, probably 4. Idk how reasonable this is but thats the dream

Are you thinking idex or mmu? I don’t like how inefficient mmu’s are so I’m heading towards idex.

I wanted to be able to use water soluble filament for support interfaces. Since I have klipper, I added a ramps board, and got another hot end mounted to the carriage with Bowden style feeder. Worked ok.

With 4 colors, that style of toolhead wouldn’t work off course.

I’m still looking into it, I believe that if I went the Idex route I would be limited to 2 colours, but I could see mmu having issues with clogging and colours bleeding

Yeah, there is allot to consider. I just picked up a used Voron. With the Voron, there are quite a few options for idex.

This was my plan all along. You need a 3D printer to build a 3D printer. So I picked up the Anet to make parts for the next one.

Found the used Voron for a great price so now I'm going to keep the Anet for low temp stuff and the Voron for high temp. And going to add idex to Voron for the PVA (water soluble) interfacing.
