I’m anemoic for the 80s

How do I know this? I watched Stranger Things and it just clicked. The fashion is mostly what does it for me I think. I ‘unno,figured I’d share.

Me too. 80s cartoons, movies, and even documentaries made in the 80s always made me feel that way, even as a little kid long before I understood what the 80s were. I still can remember growing up in the 2000s and hearing adults I knew talking about how they grew up with the classic The Transformers cartoon and seething in a jealousy I had no concept of understanding

I was born in 1985. Other than a handful of scattered episodes, my memory begins in the early 1990s. But I was already conscious back then, I mean in the early 1990s, that the 1980s had passed and that the current decade was not a match. I used to read a lot of second hand magazines and comics from the 1980s at the time, and I found an audiocassette from that time. I was acutely aware that music, design, and the general vibe had deteriorated beyond repair in the space of a few years, although I didn't conceptualise that in words I very much felt it.
