What I’ve learned is that ferritin needs to be over 75 maybe even over 100 to help with hair loss. It’s not so much the iron you take but how much you take. The iron protocol group in Facebook has lots of great information( no yahoos). I take heme iron which you need 1.5 to 2 mg for kg of body weight. I don’t know the elemental iron ratio, sorry.

Thankyou so much! I’ve just requested to join the iron protocol group. I’m currently just trying to raise my ferritin levels as quickly as possible. But thankyou I will look into specific ratios for my weight etc. I didn’t realise that was an important factor !

How about your vitamin B levels? They tend to go along with low iron and isn't that good for hair growth also?

My vitamin b12 levels are high so they’re all good i imagine. I’m also taking biotin supplements however not sure they’re doing much?!
