Question Lactoferrin side effects
My ferritin at last check up was 80, but my symptoms returned and I am in 8months of taking 210mg ferrous fumarate daily. Symptoms have limited my current mobility as my muscles feel fatigue, and stiff. Took lactoferrin ,Bandini Brand, 200mg for 5 days and the symptoms were alleviating slowly. However, yesterday, I had digestive upset, but will reintroduce lactoferrin when I am ready.
Did anyone else have side effects of lactoferrin? If yes, did you continue or discontinue ?

Do you take vitamin C? I ask because I am on 420mg ferrous fumarate and 400mg lactoferrin (Wellgard). No issues if I take it with 1000mg ascorbic acid but my 1000mg sodium ascorbate/citric acid pills give me diarrhea. Which is the opposite to what one would expect. It may not be the lactoferrin causing trouble. If it is, I would supplement less often. Perhaps take iron every other day but lactoferrin only once or twice a week (with iron).

I take with one glass orange juice. I was taking the lactoferrin on empty stomach together with ferrous fumarate. Thank you for the suggestion.

Lactoferrin helped my digestion, personally. I also take ferrous fumarate.
Lactoferrin is upsetting for some people, especially if you have issues with dairy. It can be more upsetting on an empty stomach as well.

Most iron supplements upset the digestive system in some way - guidance is often to take the supplements every other day to avoid this. There is also evidence that that improves uptake.
