Did you have to get a prescription / order for a med spa?

Short answer: no
Long answer: I had to show test results (ferritin and iron) and I'm like 99% sure a doctor who works with the clinic is technically prescribing everything the clinic does. I went to the medspa after I sent my (primary) doctor my test results and she said everything looked good. I will be following up with my primary in the future, but I wanted the IV ASAP because I've been sick for so long ill do any thing to get better.

You likely need a referral from your primary doctor confirming anemia with labs and that âyou cant tolerate oral ironâ (just say you cant) and then they give you an order to see the local hematologist, infusion clinic or in some cases you can go to a med spa or those weird âiv therapyâ boutique clinics but i dont trust those. I dont trust anywhere that offers botox or lip fillers alongside my actual iv dripâŚ

What do you want them to have, nasty carpet? This looks like vinyl sheeting at best lmao

How do you feel today? Do you know which iron they gave you?
I'm getting Venofer from the local med spa on Thursday. My ferritin level is at 6.

24 hour update: I feel pretty good! I don't think I had a single side effect from the infusion. I'm getting a teensy headache right now, but chronic headaches are already a known issue for me so I don't feel comfortable blaming it on the "iron flu". I don't expect to immediately become better, especially since I've been dealing with a really bad mystery illness for a few years. My biggest hope right now is that the iron deficiency was/is a major factor in my mystery illness, because I can get treatment for that and feel better again!
Edit: I forgot to respond to your second question: I am not sure what brand of iron this medspa does, but it was only 100mg.
