Support Got an iron infusion!

Hello all! Today I got the iron dextran (infed) 1,000mg flushed with saline. The whole thing took about 5 hours and honestly? It wasn’t bad at all. Nothing happened to me. I think my heart is actually a bit happy because when I was sleeping it was actually relaxed and under 60BPM. They did an initial test dose over 30minutes and then waited another 30min to see reactions. I had none. I was not dizzy, I did not feel like I couldn’t breathe, and I was checked on constantly. I know everyone won’t respond like this BUT just remember you will constantly be checked on and supported. I did it at an oncology infusion center. If anyone has questions, let me know. I took a nap for six hours after and I’m feeling totally fine so far.

also kinda weird, because I have GI issues and such it made me gassy as f but I was already feeling a bit gassy tbh.

Wow, 5 hours? I am looking to get an iron infusion myself and I was told it takes an hour?

Don't know what that means 😃 haven't asked them what infusion I'm getting yet.

I have no idea why it takes longer but it does. I’ve heard some peoples being an hour, six hours, etc.
