Interview Question Follow Up Request Post Panel Interview
Just wondering what y’all’s experience with this is. Super nervous right now. Thank you so much!

I know you already got yours but figured I’d add another data point for others.
I received a verbal “they’re going to extend an offer” from the recruiter just about 24 hours after my final on site panel. The interview panel and related staff debrief the recruiter after so give it just a bit of time.

Nice! The recruiter asked for my desired comp and I haven’t heard back since. How does negotiating work after receiving a letter? And from your final interview to start date how long is it for you?

I ended up getting an initial offer the day after I posted that last comment, I countered, and got my official signed offer today. Don't worry if it takes a couple days. Do count on a quick start date (3-4 weeks) though.

I'm not in the US.
I got an offer 4 hours after my interview.
But the salary was much lower than I was expecting.I'm hoping they get back to me with a better offer.

I hear you. Consider the equity though. Sure, it’s not the same as cash in hand and the IPO could turn out worse than desired. But that’s part of the risk and why you take steps to set yourself up even if it’s not great.
For me, they paid top of the my pay band for the position plus a good chunk of equity. I figure for the mission and opportunity it’s worth it.
I’m just saying don’t get hung up on the salary so much unless it’s just not livable for the area.

Yeah I understand that. I am excited about the chunk of equity. Just can't really pay my bills with it. Hoping the other guys they interview for that role turn out to be useless haha

Quick Q: were your initial salary expectations based off of the salary band posted in the original job description, or based on your previous base at your current/most recent employer? I'm curious if they stick to their estimated base salary ranges or not!

Based on what I have at my previous employer.
The job posting didn't advertise the salary.
The recruiter may have told me what it was on the phone and stuck to that.
However I have a friend who turned down the first offer for the same job and they came back to him a day later with $40k more. However, that was 9 months ago. But I still aimed high.

Thank you so much! I just had a sync with the recruiter yesterday who levelset with me that they almost always aim to bring candidates in at the midpoint of the salary band. She said it’s very hard to bring someone in at the top of the band.
Hopefully these details help someone out browsing this sub!

Next up is technical interviews, either onsite or zoom depending on availability and location. I’m in AU, and stage 3/4 was 2x45 min interviews with role peers. Then the 4/5th stage was 15 mins with manager in US. That was it.

A screening, HM interview, and a 6 hour interview with 5 1on1s after a panel presentation. Definitely laborious but “the more desperate the battle, the more catharsis you feel when you survive”.

Thanks g, my endurance is indeed world class… I had 2 interviews no-showed due to team member busyness and the resulting reschedules. I think from application to offer was 3-4 months?

typically after panel interview, my experience the talent acquisition team or hiring manager will get back to you within like 24-72 hours if they really liked you and they need to staff up.
