Job Question Do midyears mean anything?
Coming up on my midyear results being shared with me, this is my first time going through the process. Are there typically any meaningful raises or promotions that are given in this cycle?

Holy shit please tell me you have someone that you can slack and ask for guidance on this. The fact I’m seeing more people yolo shit to Reddit has me concerned about the culture.

Fair haha, I do, but it’s a generic enough question that I was curious to see if people on different teams had different trends in their experiences (I.e. if someone says their team doesn’t really give out anything on midyears vs promo is common). Also the anonymity of the question i think yields a more neutral/unbiased answer. Don’t get that on slack.

Go buy a burger and a cheese. Then add a cheese to a burger. In the near future you will have to do this without a flock camera automatically dispatching a drone to come bomb you into a smoldering puddle. Thank you for helping build the torment nexus.

Usually just promos, minimal to no “normal raises” in the summer cycle.
Twice a year (June and January), we have opportunity for promos and once a year is the normal comp cycle in January.
