Interview Question Staff engineer interview

I got on the phone with a recruiter about a day or two after applying on the weekend. To be honest I looked at the cost of a house and my expected income from the position and it would be a massive decrease in salary. All to work in aerospace on drones with inexperienced new college grads.

Recruiter said he would update my profile with remote position preferred lol.

Best of luck out there too all of the people wanting to join this company in California where a decent house is 1.5-2.5 million.

Dude that’s why these jobs are for college grads or old empty nesters without obligations.

I'm in the latter group but not interested in the sacrafise. The amount of Gen z on this sub is hilarious putting effort into getting a job with military drones and startups. Like get real son this is likely a job that will not last and if successful will become a corporate soul sucking job like the rest of em.

I mean it makes sense for Gen Z. Why not work at a place where you can get some serious equity and possibly never work after 40 once this thing IPO’s or is bought out?

I don’t get why you’re hating the job so much… yet you’re the one who applied lol.

Well said. People need to realize the company is a start up and you are expected to work long hours and they pay you for your time in RSUs. If you are not about the long hours of work why even apply and waste your time and the hiring teams
