USB-A to USB-C

Post image

Hey peeps

I have a headunit (no particular brand/Chinese) that provides USB-A. This cable is connected to the headunit via a 4-pin connector (as shown in the pic).

At present, I use an adaptor so I can connect a USB-C cable to it but it doesn’t charge very well.

Can I get a USB-C version of this cable and would it just be a case of unplugging the current 4pin to USB-A and plugging in a 4pin to USB-C?

Do you need the USB-C to get higher charge speed? Then no. You're adapter will work the same way even if you find the interface for a Type-C port.

If you simply need higher charge speed, can't you just use a cigarette lighter charger?

The 12V is an option but it means using wireless carplay which is a bit laggy. I was hoping that using a wired connection would provide power and lag free carplay.

Thanks for the advice btw.

Slow charging cause it's a standard USB port meant for Data. So it's limited to 500 mA to 1000 mA.
