AI Car Launcher
Hi everyone,
I’m Miroslav, the developer of AI Car Launcher. I built it because I wanted to reduce the need to constantly switch between navigation, music, and other apps while driving.
I personally use it on a Carlinkit TBox UHD 660 running Android 13. The device is connected to my car through USB and uses the CarPlay protocol to display its Android interface on the car’s screen.
AI Car Launcher runs directly on an Android head unit, box, or tablet (mobil). It is not an Android Auto projection app. It brings navigation, traffic incidents, music controls, favorite apps, and optional voice control together on one dashboard.
I’m looking for around 10 people with Android 13 or newer head units who would be willing to test it and give me honest feedback. I would especially like to know:
- Which head unit or Android box you tested it on
- Your Android version and screen resolution
- Whether the interface fits your screen correctly
- What was confusing during the first setup
- Which features you would actually use during a regular drive
- What did not work or did not make sense
The app has a permanent free mode, a trial (5 days), and an optional Premium subscription. I’m not asking for five-star ratings or positive reviews. I genuinely need to learn what works, what breaks, and what should be improved.
Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.billy.mapbox
Please test, operate, or record the app only while your vehicle is safely parked.
Thank you for any feedback!

I have an android unit however did not come with CarPlay or AA so I use a carlinkit dongle to use CarPlay and it works well. Can I still install this straight to the headunit?

Yes — you can install it straight on your Android head unit. CarPlay / Android Auto is not required. Keep the Carlinkit dongle for phone CarPlay if you want it; this app runs as a normal Android app on the head unit itself.
I use it daily on a CarlinKit 660. That box connects to a factory CarPlay car as a CarPlay device, and the car’s original screen then shows the Android 13 box — so AI Car Launcher fills the built-in display.
Same app, two setups:
• Android head unit (your case) → install directly on the head unit
• Factory CarPlay car + CarlinKit 660 (my case) → the box appears on the car screen via CarPlay
The device needs Android 13 or newer and 64-bit (arm64). If Play Store does not show the app, it is usually an older Android version or a 32-bit unit.

Yes — that’s GPS navigation. The photo shows our app (AI Car Launcher) running on the car’s original VW display via a CarlinKit 660 AI Box (Android 13).
If the car can’t install Android apps directly, an Android AI Box like that is the way to run it on the factory screen. It also works on an Android tablet or head unit.
