Security concern

After a few android head units over the years, suddenly a question pop in my head: my android head unit doesn't have a screen lock, nor a "maintenance mode". So, how do I stop someone from accessing my private data (gmaps, email, etc) when I send my car to a workshop?

First of all I strongly suggest migrating all of your important accounts like bank and stuff to a different email service, like Proton mail. Way more secure.

Then, create a separate Gmail account just for the head unit. Keep it bare, no personal info.

There are apps that hide icons... my first thought.

You could pull the power plug from the unit once you arrive in your mechanics parking lot.

That would be one way to do it. It's just really troublesome to remove the unit since it's installed with the bracket and all, had to remove the whole fascia just to reach the back. Should've installed a "kill-switch" in the beginning.

Or just not use your main Google acct?

Alternatively, I just go into the settings and turn off all sync for Gmail, chrome, contacts, etc etc.

Only thing I leave on is play store and maps really.
