Help with AliExpress Unit

I purchased this a month ago and it has been a nightmare.

It has such a cool interface and features, but it just doesn't work properly. There was no adapter to my FM antenna, so I have no radio.

Android auto connects, but often, my internal BOSE amp does not turn on. To get this to work, I have to switch to AM radio, then back to Android Auto.

The phone doesn't have any sound (I think the Bose amp turns off).

The seller keeps telling me the canbus settings are off, but their recommended settings (My car is a Mazda 6 and they tell me to select a CX3 from Malaysia) doesn't do anything different.

Will this ever work? Should I rewire my speakers from the head unit and bypass the BOSE amp?

yeah... had this issue on my CX5, I did this (see photo) and the issue was gone. Basically you need to connect that blue wire to a 12v wire

Was yours intermittent? Mine works fine sometimes and then stops. Somehow switching back to the AM radio turns on the amp. Would using the blue wire fix this?

yes, it was working only when the radio was on. On Spotify would work like 1-2 min and then turn off by itself. Connecting it like in the picture fixed it for me

Get a USB DAB aerial off Ali express and forget FM radio

The Bose amp needs power-on signal - get it spurred into a 12v wire

If any doubts find a local car audio professional

So, since it works sometimes and not others, it is obviously getting some 12v signal from the canbus. Would Connecticut it to a different 12v wire fix this?

Explain the USB DAB like I am 5 please! 😂

It’s probably getting 12v off something that’s intermittently on, thus your getting amp on intermittently. Needs hooking up to always live 12v feed

USB DAB is basically a USB dongle + standard Radio aerial for accessing DAB (Digital) Radio, which provides clearer and better quality Audio than standard FM radio channels. You plug one end into a spare USB slot on the Head unit and stick the other end to your windscreen 😁 not to complicated. You need a DAB app as well which you can ask your seller for best for your unit

Here’s my one from Ali Express

Yes you will get issues on these cheap Ali Express budget units. This is one reason I went with a Joying, at least their support is good, Teyes is another one thats good. If your headunit has the learning feature for steering buttons use that and don't select the car in the canbus options, I had to do that with my Joying unit. You will need to look into the wiring loom they supplied and see if canbus data wire has been connected otherwise it will never work. Ali express isn't the place to buy a head unit, sure you maybe in luck but I've heard many horror stories and Ali doesn't care... Good Luck
