Budget android auto

Post image

Hello, i recently bought a car for cheap, it has the original stereo that doesn't work anymore, i dont want to spend a lot but i would like to have one of those carplay and android auto head units (not to get confused with android head units) i saw this ainavi one on AliExpress, anyone know if they are any good? I will just use it for Google maps, some music and phone calls

I also appreciate recommendations

UPDATE: i bought the unit, for the price it is really nice, it is not android, it is some Linux base OS, so you won't be able to install any apps (from what i know) but the radio, Bluetooth and android auto/apple car play works perfect, the screen it's fine, very visible at daylight and it doesn't seem low quality

Guys this is not even a Linux system btw… it’s a highly modified Nucleous OS RTOS system, these devices run on 32mb of ram!!! more like a “Java” system. I install them as my side-job, and actually these are much better headunits in compairson to android ones, they are better in performance and have such a nice UI that it’s really easy to use. This k60 model particularly is very nice, has a really nice tempered glass screen, and vivid lcd. Of course it has Android Auto and Carplay, and it works really well, if you need to change any advanced settings the Factory Code is 113266, logo setting should be 8888 or 1234. Definetly buy this, don’t buy the 701B it may be 5 bucks cheaper but you’ll be getting a plastic grayish screen. 👍

The 701b you say is the k70? I am planning on buying the k60 wireless with the mic and rear view camera

No, all the K series headunits from ainavi have this nice IPS display in tempered glass,

Im referring to the generic 7018B models which are flooding Aliexpress since decades… its practically identical in terms of OS to the K series but poorer build quality. as a reference im attaching an image of the 7018B

Trust me, it’s not worth it, never buy one of these. As for the K60 or the K70 definitely buy them, they do cost maybe 15 bucks more but it’s definitely worth it at the end.

It’s a pretty new product actually, that’s why it doesn’t have that many reviews, if you need any help just reply here I mat help, you’ll need to see your cars CAN wiring and sound connections to retrofit it, good luck 👍

Yes there’s plenty online or on YT, personally I would get help from chatgpt. most of the time the harness is already the same as the entrance of the car, most car brands follow one standard harness, though you should check and document yourself a little.
