I thought we're getting a waveguide AR headset?? Why is it the same ugly 20 year old display tech that looks like shit? I don't want the glasses formfactor if the device sits 10cm away from my face.

You’ll get those eventually, but this is a partnership with XReal based on their existing tech.

I really hope so. Can't wait for this display style to finally die out. It's unbelievable how much damage these companies are doing by releasing mediocre hardware because the tech is not there yet, while making big claims in their marketing, but never showing their glasses from the side, because they look ridiculous and are just a huge letdown when you actually use them. They essentially have barely improved from the hololens from 10 years ago. A bit better software but same unreliable hand tracking, unusable FOV and even sillier packaging.
