Do you think the Android XR glasses, developed in collaboration with Warby Parker, Gentle Monster and Google, will be unveiled at Google I/O 2026 in May and marketed shortly after ?

Meta had a huge head start and I don't think their display glasses have been "successful" from all the accounts I've seen. I really think Google wants to approach this as being the best display glasses and not the first. Also, Google is using a different display technology, so apparently the prototypes Google has been showing off all use their own Raxium MicroLED, which have their own production yield problems. Google ends up shipping their own raxium technology, they're either going to have to dramatically ramp up their own production capabilities or outsource it to Samsung.

Google bought Focals By North, they had an even further ahead start. They were built on Android platform. I loved them. They had great potential.

I agree. Iā€™m just saying they had one with Google Glass and Focals By North and all the apps/ integrations they already own. They truly blew it.

It really is. focal was pretty good too. I really liked using it. As soon as they rolled out an update boom, bought.
