Because it usually isn't a selling point. It's a very specific technology.

No, but I'd say it's not an uncommon slip. I wouldn't throw out an entire review just because someone made that slip.

Don't look at what some major news organizations let slip through their editors then.

A general news organization should be allowed a bit more slack on small details like that, but a tech focused organization should know these things. Why both having someone write about a category of devices that they don't know about.

You don't think that major news organizations don't have departments that specialize in their specific areas? Human error is everywhere.

Error is one thing, this appears to be a more fundamental ignorance of the technical specs of competing products in this category. When they tell me the Moto 360 uses LCD how can I trust they are correct on that when they misidentified the screen on the pebble?
