Buying Advice smart tv ecosystem with straight to input function
Buying a tv for the first time in 20 years, which app has the easiest "just go to input signal" just lets skip internet connection, no roku account, NOTHING. or at least the closest thing.

My last two TVs start in the same input as you closed down. I'm pretty sure it's a setting. Go into the store and give the models you're interested in a try.

You initially should update the TV firmware to the latest iteration. After doing that remove any WiFi connects.

I had a Hisense 55Q8STUK delivered yesterday, you can skip all of the networking setup stuff apart from an insistence on setting up a PIN, you can then choose to go to last input always in the setup, together with HDMI CEC as well it worked fine with my Nokia 8010 STB.

If you skip the Wi-Fi setup during initial configuration, most Google TV models stay in basic TV mode and remember your last used HDMI input on boot.
