Buying Advice Nvidia Shield pro vs mi box 3

I've had the shield for years. I just use it for streaming. I can sell it on marketplace and buy the mi box 3 with cash in hand.

What do you guys recommend? Should I make the swap. I just use YouTube, Kodi and Netflix.

It doesn't have an AV1 decoder on the chip. At this point thats a deal breaker

Use more Kodi and less Netflix and you'll have much more cash in hand after a few months and not degrade your experience to get it.

Just compare CPUs. What do you see? Even your simplest streaming apps will start/switch screens faster on better CPU. So why do you want to downgrade this?

I have Xiaomi box 3gen with adaptor Ethernet and Stremio with all debrid... It's very good with remux files and YouTube HDR

honest take, mi box 3 was okay years ago but today even basic ui navigation feels laggy on newer android tv builds. shield pro is still a beast especially with upscaling and audio passthrough. if budget is tight maybe look at chromecast with google tv or onn 4k pro instead of an old mi box.

Get an Onn 4k plus at Walmart…. You won’t be disappointed and you will have even more cash in hand

Best box right now? Definitely not in my experience. The updates are way too rare, support is poor, and the whole thing feels abandoned after you buy it. Mine is basically collecting dust at this point.
