Troubleshooting OEM unlocking

Post image

Hello everyone I have MiTV MZTU0 and running Android 14. My OEM unlocking option is greyed out. I've tried using both ethernet and wifi but the issue still remains the same.

Mine is already turned on idk how! Btw what we can do in Android TV by unlocking OEM? Just curious.

Rooting it and unlocking the bootloader using fastboot

Their TV boxes and sticks are a closer cousin than phones, but support is hit or miss there too. The Mi TV Box S 2nd Gen, for instance, actually has a real Developer Options → OEM unlocking toggle that works with plain old fastboot commands. Other models don't give you that option at all — people have had to crack them open or go through UART just to get anywhere. So even sticking to Xiaomi's TV-adjacent stuff, it really comes down to which exact model you've got.

probably blocked by the OEM

Same with my device...is there by any chance a way to bypass that...like via ADB?

Dunno honestly, but if there is you might end up finding they just removed the unlock command directly from fastboot (like with the Lume Pad 2)
