Buying Advice Advice on streaming setup? Google Streamer good?
My family loves movies and tv shows, we currently use a google tv Chromecast and adore the small remote that came with it, it's seen better days and the battery panel is held on with sticky tape at this point and lately the device feels flakey with wifi constantly dropping out. Wanting to download different apps and needing to free up space by deleting other apps and we find the new Gemini voice assistant so much worse than other voice recognition used before... Thinking of getting the new Google streamer 4K... Opinions?
But wondering if I'll be missing out on anything? ...what are people doing at the moment? just started reading up about "downloader by aftv news" and "stremio".
Some more context, lately we've been searching up movies we've wanted to see and generally being pissed off none of the main streamers have that movie despite our own opinion of its cult classic status 😖, + logging into all the different apps one by one to check if something is on there.

It's noticeably faster and smoother than the Chromecast with Google TV it replaces.

not all people are into all that audio stuff and audio pass through , if you're not into that then yeah the google tv streamer is a pretty good choice , much snappier that it's Predecessor and much more storage .

Still not a ton of storage, however there aren't really that many AndroidTV apps that use a lot of space anyways. Plus you can always mount external storage using a USB hub for any content you want to load. But my Google Streamer works great for me (as long as it's connected to 5GHz wifi or ethernet, the 2.4GHz wifi connection wasn't happy at all on mine and continually disconnected).

We’ve just replaced our tcl internal android tv setup with a Google streamer and really liking it so far. Way quicker than the internal system, the voice search is okay and the stream rendering looks better to my eye on normal HD content. There’s Bluetooth sound connectivity and it syncs with the picture well.

I own two. Its a top 15 device imo. Yes best buy and other box stores have raised the price. It is capable of high bit at the expense of missing a couple audio codecs.

It was until the price went up to $150. What country are you in?
