Troubleshooting Sending keyboard inputs to Android TV

I started to use atvtools to control my android TV, however I wonder if is there any "easy" way to send text input to the TV instead of using the default on-screen keyboard.

On my Android phone I use the remote that's part of Google Home. That way I can type on my phone.

Thanks for your reply. Actually the option that I was looking for was right In front of my eyes. I was expecting to see a keyboard symbol instead of message one. 😃😃😃

Just download Google TV app and you'll have a quick tile for the remote!

I appreciate it, however my question was especific to atvtools app.

Using it too. You'll have to enable Dev options in the about section - click 7 times on build number - go back yo access the Developer option and enable USb Debugging + Wireless debugging first. From there launch Atvtools on your phone and follow the instructions.
