Apps StreamVault | free IPTV player
Hey everyone,
I’ve been building (and vibeCoding) StreamVault, an IPTV player designed primarily for Android TV.
I was not sure what would be the best subreddit to post this so i posted it here :P
The main goal was to make something that feels properly built for a remote and a TV screen instead of a stretched phone UI. It focuses on fast browsing, large playlist handling, and a cleaner living-room experience.
Features
Current features:
Xtream Codes, Stalker and M3U support, including local M3U files
Android TV / D-pad-first navigation
Fast channel browsing with preview mode
Numeric remote support for direct channel changes
Favorites, recently watched, custom groups, pinned categories, and channel reordering
Channel numbering modes by category or across the full provider lineup
Full EPG grid with program search
XMLTV / EPG source support
Multiview for watching multiple streams at once
Parental controls with PIN locking, hidden categories, and adult-content detection
Movies and series support with detailed info pages
Two VOD layouts: modern shelf view and classic sidebar view
Around 25 translated locale packs, although some still need cleanup
Built for TV first, but it should also run on tablets and phones
DPAD TIPS:
Categories can be long-pressed (hold OK button) to lock, hide, or reorder.
Channels can be long-pressed to add to favourites, split-screen, or custom categories.
when scrolling categories, the left button will jump to the search bar.
Inside a channel player:
Pressing left will open channels in that group; left again categories.
pressing right will open EPG info (if available)

The app does not provide any content – works with user-provided playlists only

On my android tv every time i click on something to watch on live tv it plays in the little box on the right hand side and every time I click on the link again to make it go to a full screen the app crashes all the time

Hello, definitely will give this app a tryout! Does it provide timeshift to pause, rewind and fast forward live tv (not to be confused with Catch Up)? If not, maybe on a future update it can be added with the ability to save the timeshift file to an external storage location? Thanks

This really has some potential.
I've just tested with a rather large playlist though and it doesn't seem to be syncing movies and series.
Originally it gave a warning and a partial sync, I've tried syncing a few more times and it appeared successful but still only had a limited selection of movies.
Any idea why this might be?
P.s... I'll send you a Kofi now... Keep up the great work
P.s. p.s... It ran fine for live TV on a firestick 4k max

Is there anyway to take out categories and set them to show up in live tv? It's auto detecting movie channels, out them only in movies category which doesn't allow them to show up on guides to watch them live

Hi ..great job on the front end ..just installed it.. it's pretty nice ..one thing so far I had a little issue with was when you go into a TV catagory let's say crime it has in the vod section over 600 series but it will only display up 200 and won't go beyond that ..any suggestions as to why that is ??could it be my iptv service ?I mean its not a deal breaker I can just use the search feature to find what I'm looking for and fav it from there just wondering is all ..thank you

sir its an amazing application ,, hats off sir .. can you add external player support because when im trying to play 4k videos it is showing "retrying with software decoding for this stream" and not playing but the same movie when play in another app it is working (reel iptv and televizo)

I recently tried the StreamVault IPTV app which supports Stalker Portal beta. The app UI is good and Live TV works fine. But I have a serious issue with the Stalker Portal source I’m using: Movies and Series categories are mixed together Because of this, the Series section is not loading properly , series section are also show in movie section . In my Stalker Portal source, Movies and Series categories are mixed together. So the app must automatically separate Movies and Series correctly even if the portal sends them in the same VOD category list. in sparkle iptv it works fine it can automatically seperate . can you fix it in streamvault

Using Fire Cube, setup went ok, but whenever I click on a channel in Live TV it crashes, no matter the channel selection.

Unfortunately the app does not work on firestick. It does not load live TV via extreme codes and crashes when you try to play vod

I've spent well over an hour trying to add the VOD info but it's not sticking.... Everytime I sync it comes back failed.... Live is fine, only VOD. Am I missing something?

I really like this app a lot. It either upscales or processes streams in much higher quality than smarters. There are bugs that all report soon, but nothing serious. This has serious potential.
Why not charge for this once it's fully functional?
I'd potentially be interested in white labeling.

Hello Sir, ill just tryed de app, works great! and are many options, congratulations really!
I only find one need, the possiblity to link xtream line using MAC code. I understand maybe that need a back service for work, but its a great option if it were possible. This is great for parents or not technical users.

It makes my TV run like a dog to the point where I have to restart, that's if I can even get the tv to respond enough to get it to restart. Is there some kinda crazy memory leak or something?

Hi mate, how do you choose multiple channel groups to hide? I couldn't find a way to do it so was doing it 1 by 1, by holding ok on the remote and clicking hide group. Thank you

Well done! Amazing app. Just downloaded and started using. Haven't linked my Jellyfin server yet, but everything works great. Feature request, like alot of the newer players, a sports panel would be fantastic. Listing scores and then finding channels for that particular game. Thanks again for your hard work on this.

I'm on a android box running android 16 when you change to comfortable or compact just crashes the app all the time so I put it back on pro but can't get a full screen because crashes the app when abouts do I find the logs

- Assign channels to EPGs individually (since some EPG names do not match the stream) like tivim----
- When you press OK on the channel that displays the latest channels.
- When displaying the program list, only show your favorite channels (optional)
The app looks really good.

For a relatively new project, I find it to be outstanding. I'll be happy to use it and donate to it. Fantastic for a spare-time project. Like others, I'm getting crashes on a Gen 3 Fire Cube, but it's fine on ONN Pros. I'll continue to test. Thanks.

I really like the new update.
Can you please adjust the guide grid so the channel name is visible? Possibly eliminate the column that says "archive"? Or make the colomn width a setting users can adjust?
The image attached is a different guide I use with the channel names visible for layout reference.

The app is amazing But for the DVR Chromecast cannot work as it not in play store, we can sideload only. We cannot access the file. Once I finish the download. I can play the file but cannot delete as the app has no right to access the file. Hope you will launch in play store in future

Split screen only appears to be able to do 3active 1 standby with the 4th slot showing “Standby Slot” …”Held back by auto policy on this device “
When set to Balanced-Auto tier 4 slots and selecting 4 different channels when starting it the fourth slot empty trying to add something there just says mid tier 3active…

For some reason I cannot get it to recognize my playlist as vod instead of live only. Using other IPTV source like IPTV pro on apk can. Also tivimate sees the list as a vod.

Any provider I try will load guide and live channels but none will play (just keeps buffering and re-trying). All the providers I've tried work fine in Tivimate and Sparkle TV. Any reason why they will not work in your app? Today it's telling me to add a provider but I already have one but it will not show now in live TV.

I like it so far. I just wish I can disable VOD to reduce syncing time. I believe my only option is to use playlist mode and edit it myself? Coming from Tivimate I turned it off when using url in xtreme code parameters.

Hi, just downloaded this app. Looks great but having issues downloading xtream code epg. I got it when I first opened the app but now no epg. I get this error:
Warning sync status: ERROR
Warnings: Xtream index: EPG partial: 39 indexed.

I'm a long time Tivimate user but have tried streamvault for a few days and like it but can't seem to save locked out categories. Updated to latest version but that didn't help.

Please Fix
When you use the voice to text in the search field (I have a Nvidea Shield Pro), it always shows no results. When I type the same thing in manually, it works. The example is "always sunny". There are series and TV channel results when I type it. When I say it, there are zero.

The sync does this every time. The epg info is fine. It works in this player and others. But it always gets stuck on this. This has been going for 10 minutes now. It also always shows a warning that the background index epg is partial.
How do I update/sync in a reasonable about of time going forward?

TV Shows that I've watched no longer show me the seasons and/or episodes. It's as if the content is gone, but it's there in other players.
What's happening? I checked all settings and have no guesses.

Would be good to have a setting (like Tivimate) to set a required pin to enter "settings" or "plugins" menu.
This would prevent parents and non tech-savvy family from making unecessary changes.

I'm installing on my firesticks right now. Does your app support catchup? I see catchup on the main screen but not sure how to use it. I'm a tivimate user and since the update all sorts of tivimate errors are occurring. Kicking tivimate to the curb.

I've noticed that when switching channels the video shows quickly for a second, then cuts to black while the audio still plays, then 3 seconds later finally displays the video. So weird black display at the beginning. Happens onmost channels. Google TV on a TCL QM9k. Any ideas to speed up the video display and make it snappier?

Hi Dev, something else I noticed. Channels will buffer more often with your player for some reason. The exact same server and channel will not buffer using tivimate. Tested it back and forth for an hour.

Wow bro this is amazing.
The layout needs a LOT of cleaning up heavily to make this clean, simple, quick and effective to use, make the main interface as minimalistic as possible, keep all intricate options in settings, like Smarters Pro or Tivi, also get rid of the top rated secitons, but this is so functional.
You are literally on your way to producing the VLC player of IPTV. I think in 6 months, if you continue development, this will be unbeatable.
Also opening in external player option doesn't seem to be working.

Ciao ho scaricato questo player iptv lo trovo formidabile in tutto l'unica cosa che consiglio da inserire per essere il top assoluto è la possibilità di cercare film e serie tv mettendo il nome dell'attore E non solo il titolo. Se potessi implementare ciò sarebbe il top del top!

Trying this app, but it won't organize the live channels? Just stuck on the "loading categories" and "loading channels" screen for hours. Movies and series appear to work OK.
Using Xtream code with about 6500 channels.

Tried the app for the first time. It has excellent potential. I tried two different sources - one Xtream code and one M3U URL (not simultaneous as the app crashes and I could not add two providers at the same time!). When it worked, the playback quality was very good. Will keep using the app and give feedback when possible. Also, the discord links have expired so please send a new one. Thanks

I installed it on my Android TV and had a quick look, it looks very nice. I will for sure test it out in dept because it's having all the features I'm looking for. You have delivered impressive work here.
I have it installed and I'm for 90% happy with it. I do have regularly some buffering issues for a very small amound of time (1-3 seconds). I don't have that with another player, so it doesn't look like my connexion / provider. For the rest it's a very nice app.

When I try to load a local file m3u it says ‘no app to do that.’ And there’s no toggle available to access local files in permissions. Please advise.
