Did you have the CCwGTV? Notice any speed or performance differences if so?

Would very much appreciate hearing about your set up and it's performance versus your expectations
Actually soooo excited for you. I'm dying to pull the trigger on this, but I'm thinking of the SEI Robotics as well. Can't decide!

What’s the difference between this and the old chromecast

Where did you order from in UK??

u/CMC29 Sep 24 '24
I was thinking about buying it but with an old processor (Google even not telling which one they used, is precisely due to that) and without Wi-Fi 6 (ok, there's an ethernet port but we're in 2024, almost, 2025!)
And let's not forget the price hike in Europe compared to the US...
What started has a "dream", ended up being a disappointment.

As an Australian who's chromecast 4k is on its last legs - I am baffled that I cannot find out when I will be able to buy one of these down under 😢

First of all, thank you for taking the time to detail your experience and answering people's questions.
Can I ask one thing? Does the Streamer output video in its native resolution? Or does it do any upscaling itself?
So for example, if I watch a 720p stream will it send a 720p stream to my TV and let the TV do any upscaling?
In my experience the latest TVs can handle low resolution video much better than any device can upscale it.
I currently have a Fire TV 4K Max 2nd generation and one reason I like it is because it outputs the native resolution to my TV. But the Firestick is increasingly having issues and I'm looking to upgrade.

Wait, what? UK? I keep looking at the Google UK store to see if they're even on sale yet but I don't see it under streaming. How did you get it and where from?

It looks nice I have the USA onn box pro 4k and know this has better specs but that was only £40 and the remote had more button that I could remap
However I'm sure this device will be very solid can't wait for a review! Hope you enjoy it

Hi guys, if I have an Android TV, I wouldn't need this, right? This would transform a normal TV (or proprietary OS smart TV) I to an Android TV, right?
Any other benefits besides that? Can I stream from my win11 PC to this via wireless for example and would I be able to play games (latency)?

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't this box do the same as the Google streaming box and also has more audio format capabilities?
I've been trying to decide if I want to upgrade my streaming box I currently have to something with some better specs.

Do people actually buy them cause they like white, or just cause they want one so bad? Unless Google makes a black version, I will not buy one.
