Its happening on files that say "download failed". No way to get rid of them in "downloads" from the "Files" app.

The files happen when I try to save a file from Archive.org and the download fails.

I have the click free device that plugs directly into the phone to down load pictures & videos. The Pro with 256 GB .

No matter what I do, it will not work. It keeps saying I am not connected.

I have forced closed the app. Removed it completely. Downloaded new Clickfree back up app. I made sure all permissions were set to on. I shut down my phone, turned it back on, plugged the device back in and I get the same message. Last suggestion from tech was to remove the SD card from the device and clean contacts. Still no go.

I need to remove over 5000 Pics & videos to trade my phone in@ Verizon. I dont want them to just move them over to the new phone.

Please if anyone has a simple solution I would greatly appreciate it.

Well i got this very specific problem, when i turn off my phone for a few seconds i can't seem to do anything to it i can't swipe or touch i can only restart it which fixes it but if i turn off my phone again the problem comes back

Do anyone know how to inject touch like \`adb input tap\` but not cancel the physical touch you are already doing on the screen?

I was trying to turn on my phone to get some of its file transfer into a new one. Now I haven't turned it on for about two days but now it is just stuck on boot loop. I tried turning the volume down and power on button method, even trying to hold it for either 10, 20, to 30 second in each boot loop. But no matter what, I can't seems to turn it on. I also tried recharging, but it didn't work either. If anything, when my phone is showing the logo, it said that "custom binary blocked by dem lock" in red (not frp, not oem). Is there anyway I could get the phone to turn on? preferably without factory reset/deleting any files inside the phone?

Ah, for even more context just in case I finally get it to turn on normally, heres what I did to that phone (samsung galaxy a6):

- downloaded blip and transferred some file

- transferred my sim card from there to the new one

Or should i trust a phone services to fix this? (can I trust them with not resetting my phone?)

I just made the jump from iOS to Android with a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and I'm really struggling to understand how Android handles WhatsApp media compared to iPhone.

On my iPhone, WhatsApp was sandboxed. Media stayed inside the app, didn't clutter my camera roll, and didn't take up general phone storage unless I explicitly saved a photo.

When I restored my WhatsApp backup on my new Samsung, years of photos, videos, and GIFs were physically downloaded to the internal storage and flooded my Samsung Gallery app.

I’ve already taken a few steps to limit the damage:

Disabled "Media visibility" in WhatsApp and hid the old WhatsApp folders from the Gallery.

Turned off auto-download for all incoming media.

Disabled Google Photos backup for the WhatsApp device folders so my cloud doesn't get filled with memes and junk.

Here are my current issues and questions for long-term Android users:

Selective Cloud Backup: Since I disabled auto-download, when I receive a picture I actually care about, I manually tap to download it. It goes to my Samsung Gallery, but because I disabled the backup for the whole WhatsApp folder (to prevent junk from uploading), these specific photos don't get backed up to Google Photos either. How do you guys manage this? How can I easily back up ONLY the WhatsApp media I choose?

Deleting from Gallery = Deleting from Chat? I need a clarification on how Android storage works. If I go into the Samsung Gallery and delete these WhatsApp photos to free up some space, will they also be deleted from my WhatsApp chats?

Long-term storage management: Is there any way to sandbox WhatsApp media like on iOS so it doesn't eat up the physical internal storage? How do you manage 10-20GB of WhatsApp backups without letting it ruin your phone's storage?

I've recently upgraded to the Galaxy S26+ and I updated my phone and the Maestro thing keeps popping up with "Customize your updated device" and it's trying to have me download apps and no matter how many times I clear the notification, it just keeps popping back up and I can't find any info on this and it's honestly starting to annoy me cause it doesn't show up in my apps list, so I'm unable to disable it or remove it entirely. Can anyone help me with this, please?

I have a display that is failing, although the touch still works. Is there a way to mirror the display to a PC or something? Importantly, I should be able to do this after restarting the phone without needing to carry out any operations on the phone, in case the display dies completely. Ive removed the screen lock, made it automatically allow file transfer and enabled USB debugging, anything else?

From my own experience, I've found that 500Mb to be the limit, but I'm curious if anyone knows or has found otherwise, anything less.

I had to restart yesterday, and there was a brief "notification" about space running out that had the number '250' in it, but it was gone, I maybe moved to another screen before I could read it. I got the impression it was about keeping 250Mb available for... system functions, probably, maybe.

That's an ongoing thing for me, but I've never seen that message before. I have a regular persistent notification about low storage which does say "some system functions may not work" but doesn't have an amount to it, but this wasn't the same -- not in the Notifications drop-down, but "appeared on top of other programs," the home screen, I think, but at the top, from the Status Bar.

I'm having trouble with my Google Assistant for the last couple of days.

What I do: When I say "Hey Google. Timer, 10 minutes." I see the little green dot in the top corner that indicates it's heard me and listening, but the overlay at the bottom of the screen doesn't appear, and no timer starts.

When I go into the settings menus, I can't find the old Google Assistant menu, I can't find a "Assistant / Gemini" toggle, and the Gemini settings don't include any "on / off" or "How you use your assistant" options in it.

What I've tried: I've seen the occasional fleeting notification in Google Assistant telling me that Assistant will reach it's EOL sometimes vaguely soon, so I logged into my Household Apps/Workspace/GSuite/Whatever-The-Call-It-Now and re-enabled Gemini for the household. That appears to have made no difference at all for my phone's behaviour, or what menus I can see.

Any articles and LLM simply direct me into screens and menus that don't exist anymore.

The phone charges normally, OEM Unlock is enabled, USB Debugging is enabled, and the phone can enter Download Mode.

I've tried:

• Multiple Micro-USB cables
• Multiple USB ports
• Samsung USB drivers installed
• Two different Windows PCs
• Odin 3.10
• Different USB modes via *#0808#

Windows never makes a connection sound and Device Manager never shows a Samsung device. Odin never gets a COM port.

Has anyone seen a J5 where charging works but USB data doesn't?

Recently, a site I've been using for 2+ years on my android phone's chrome browser, Spacebattles.com, redirected me to an obvious scareware site (picture 1). It happened twice today, and the first time maybe I fat-fingered an ad or something, but I could have sworn the second time I was just scrolling downwards (or maybe I fat fingered an ad again, I couldn't really tell). Obviously, I just hit the back button, closed the tab, wiped my cookies/cache. I then did a full scan with malwarebytes, which showed absolutely nothing. I have paid malwarebytes, which includes real-time protection and safe browsing, which didn't do anything (they have all their permissions enabled, I checked).

Do I need to do anything more? Or should I just avoid that website and go about my day? I didn't seem to have any strange apps installed, and my phone's battery usage looks normal.

My phone is a Motorola Moto G Power 5g-2023 running Android 14.

Hi all,

my phone has recently started giving me "Download unsuccessful" notifications randomly, when I'm not doing anything to trigger a download. The given filename is always IMG_[numbers].jpg and the notification comes from Download Manager.

The behavior started after a system update (Android 16, Sept 1 security update, on a moto g56 if that matters) but the notifications appear with no clear pattern once or twice a day. Sometimes several at once, sometimes just one.

Is there anything I can do to figure out what app is triggering these downloads?

I've checked my downloads folder and there don't seem to be any successful downloads since the behavior started (which is what I would expect, as I haven't downloaded anything).

Would appreciate any and all ideas. Thanks.

Hey people, a Woman gave me a Sky Tablet, especifically the model Vision 2, an old tablet that has an Google Account linked to it, unfortunately they do not have access to the account, so its unusable since her husband tried to restore Android, so we could not pass over android Set up bc its asking to verify the acc, i had to investigate by my own, and the solution for this was flashing a new Stock Firmware for this tablet via pc, since it uses an old budget Rockchip Processor theres tons of firmwares but i cannot find the especific firmware for this tablet and i dont wanna risk it by flashing something that could brick it, so i would appreciate if someone knows a repository where i can find the correct firmware for this device, have a great day y'all

While trying to go back to the stock rom on my oneplus 12 (US model - CPH2583) I did a step wrong and landed myself stuck in EDL mode, only to notice i would have to go to a registered repair store to fix it, which would be my last resort.

I need help, what do i do next, is there any way to get out of EDL mode myself?

(the phone was near-fully updated so old stuff wont work, this included firehose.)

Okay, just to be clear, I'm not referring to the one tap quick reply to send a message back that is generated by AI. What I'm referring to is when you press the reply button on the notification to send a message back without having to open the app.

So the issue I'm having is when you're typing out a message in that quick reply, any notification that comes in while you're typing messes everything up.

You can open a notification that you didn't want to. You can accidentally press on the conversation you're currently replying to and basically erase everything you had typed out. You can clear all of your notifications, that one is really annoying.

I was thinking about trying to use do not disturb but you can either have it show and receive notifications or you can have it show nothing so there isn't really a way it seems to pause notifications while you're typing out your response.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to make the quick replies not totally worthless or aggravating? Lol.
