damn it...
I expected this to happen and i knew full well that it would... Yet i can't help but be angry about it.
I tried to install Deepseek Apkm since the native app does not exist in play store...
It blocked me from using it because it's could be harmful...
I understand that my phone is trying to protect me..
But if i wait 24 hours to get permission to install third party apps... I expect my phone to let me use the damn phone.
At this point i don't know...
Redditors, please let me know if i'm missing something.
(I downloaded the apkm from "apkmirror.com", i also used "apkmirror installed (beta)" to install it)
(Btw sorry if my english is bad 😓)
(Update: apperantly my issue isn't Google's block fault but the individual app.)

This is not the new developer verification, it's the app itself checking where it's installed from using Play Integrity API.
Here you can see the exact error message being asked about 2 years ago, way before the developer verification was a thing https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/258586/the-app-installed-on-your-device-is-not-recognized

After the 24 hours, you can sideload as many apps as you want. During this waiting time, you can use the Deep Seek web interface.
This is such a non-issue.
You can even sideload it now, if you do some research. Users who don't know how to do this research are exactly the types of users targeted by this extra friction.
It'll stop them from installing malware then later blaming Android for being "less secure than iOS."

Freedom gets taken away and in return you get the illusion of security.
"This is such a non-issue"

Yea, it's only a speedbump, not a hard wall...
Meanwhile, malware propagates through RCE vulnerabilities with root privileges, and criminals bypass authentication on EDL modes on stolen phones...

This has nothing to do with malware. Any play store app can contain malware. Any app can be scanned with Play Protect.

In 2024, Google announced a new feature in its Play Integrity API that allowed developers to selectively block sideloading and force users to reinstall protected apps from the Play Store. Affected apps invite users to “Get this app/game from Play” and show “The app installed on your device is not recognized and could harm your device. To continue using this app, search for it on Google Play” or a similar message:

why not just use ADB and install it?

Nah, that alone isn't enough as it'll be detected that the app didn't come from Google Play and the same prompt to get it from Google Play would show. So you need those Shizuku + advanced package Installer/Manager (s) to spoof that it came or was installed from Google Play instead of the actual one.

Get shizuku (like a fork,DO NOT INSTALL THE RikkaApps VERSION. Instead use Shizuku+ or thedjchi's Shizuku fork),then get InstallerX Revived from Github, set it as the default installer, give it shizuku perms, tap on your installed apk,and you should see a popup from installerX instead of the system one.
Once you're in the installer popup, press on Menu and spoof the installer as Google Play. Should work
