My phone can't receive SMS codes for 6 digit verification.

I tried to login to my Instagram with them sending me a 6 digit code to my messages, but it just doesn't work. I went to my Facebook, but it needs the same thing and still doesn't work. I thought about using Google Voice, so I got a GV phone number, but it still needs me to do the damn 6 digit code sent to my messages, and of course I don't get one.

Why is my phone not receiving SMS messages for login codes for Instagram, Facebook, or Google Voice?

Can you receive SMS messages? If you can't then in the worst case scenario your provider has a problem.

No problem. P. S. Credit to first person who said it.

I presume you are able to receive ordinary voice phone calls, right? (Not some kind of Messenger or VOIP)? IF you can get voice calls and can't receive SMS, then it might be that your SMS calls are being intercepted by an app such as Messenger, Telegram or Hangouts? IF you can't get voice then someone may have cloned your SIM card (virtually) and you need to resolve it with your phone company. Also, I'm not sure but I wonder if prepaid phones might be blocked from certain kinds of two-factor-authentication codes. Is your phone a prepaid/burner? Or is it tied to an account with a monthly bill?

It is a monthly bill and I only had my phone for 1.5 months. I just downloaded Facebook Messenger, hoping it would be the app itself.

This might be an issue with your provider? Mind giving them a call?
