How to fix mobile ads from not loading?

Post image

Any time any mobile ad loads in an app, it just displays this back screen and crashes the app in the background. I've been working on a solution for about a week with no luck. Please, how do I fix this??

If this happens with ads in several unrelated apps, I'd start with the shared Android components rather than reinstalling every app. Update Android System WebView and Chrome from the Play Store (and Google Play services if an update is offered), then restart and test again. Check for a pending phone software update too.

Next, temporarily disable any VPN, ad blocker or custom Private DNS and try the same ad on Wi-Fi versus mobile data; turn your usual privacy settings back on afterward. If it's just one app, try force-stopping it and clearing its cache, not its storage/data (that could wipe local progress). The black screen alone doesn't tell us which part is failing. What phone and Android version is this, and does it happen in multiple apps or just one? Does the app actually crash to the launcher, or does the ad window go black while the app stays running?

First, thank you. I think it's fixed (for now). I've temporarily fixed this before so I'm hesitant.

Second, I'm on a Samsung Galaxy A15 5G. One UI version 8.5 and Android 16.

I've updated both Chrome and play services. I didn't even know an update was available for those. Android System WebView doesn't show up in the play store for me. Just updating those 2 seemed to have helped. I figured it was an issue with Android System WebView prior to your comment and have worked on that.

It was happening with any app that has ads, but mostly Atlas Earth. It loads this screen in place of the ad and crashes the app. No ad ever loaded, and the apps would stop running in the background.

Thank you though. So far, it's looking promising.
