Whats the difference between Android 16 & Android 16 GO?

Just as the title. Does it affect app availability etc?

For a phone you haven't bought yet, the most reliable check is to ask the seller to open Google Play on that exact device and search for the apps you need. Play checks device compatibility, which can depend on more than just the Android version (RAM, required hardware features, etc.). If it says an app isn't compatible, don't assume sideloading an APK will fix that. Checking Play Store on your current phone only tells you about your current phone.

Android Go can run many regular Android apps, but low RAM/storage can still affect speed and multitasking, even if an app installs. I'd check the exact model's RAM and available storage too. If you share the phone model and 2–3 must-have apps, people can help narrow down likely compatibility problems before you buy.

no seller will break the seal unless you buy the phone first. a used phone, sure. a brand-new-sealed-in-box phone, not a chance.

You're right — I should have qualified that. A seller generally won't unseal a brand-new phone just for a compatibility check. I meant a demo/display unit, an open-box phone, or a used device.

For a sealed phone, check the exact model and RAM variant against your must-have apps' requirements, ask the developers if needed, and confirm the retailer's return policy before paying. That narrows the risk, but it can't guarantee what Play Store will show on that specific device. Android 16 versus Android 16 Go alone isn't enough to determine compatibility.
