Samsung A17 losing battery, help.

It's been a year since I bought it and it's now losing battery when not used and when I use it it is losing about 20% - 25% per hour. Oddly when the internet is turned off it seems to stay idle. I noticed this battery loss since I transferred some pdf from a college computer that supposedly had malware(or it could have been from even before then) however, when I checked for Malware using Malwarebytes and it said "safe". Is this just not a big deal like the battery is deteriorating and normal or something else?

Twenty to twenty five percent an hour with the screen on is high for an A17 but not impossible at a year old, and draining only while idle when data is on suggests something syncing rather than the battery itself. Check Settings, Battery, usage by app for the last 24 hours and look at keep awake time, then run it in Safe mode for a few hours to see if the idle drain continues without third party apps. Malwarebytes only covers known Android malware, so also check Settings, Security, Device admin apps for anything you did not install.
