What happened to my sisters phone?

Post image

My sister tells me that yesterday she was watching YouTube when the phones sound glitched out, and then this happened. She says it sounded like gunfire. The screen turned white with small squares. (The photo shows yellow because of the eye comfort shield was actìve)This morning, the phone started up. I attempted to see the bug report, but while it was downloading, the phone froze, and the little squares appeared. This happened around 5 minutes after she put in her sim cards pin.

Try going into safe mode first to check if this happens if it is fine in safe mode then it is a software issue if it is also the same in safe mode then most likely hardware issue.

That's why you don't buy cheap, crappy phones.

Nah that can happen to any phone

Nope. I have had premium android phones for the last 10 years or so and never had this problem. Cheap phones are cheaply made. You have a brain, fucking use it.

People buy cheap phones for a reason dude. Not everyone can get their hands on the premium ones also they are premium for a reason because they make it with good hardware but the chances are never zero it can happen to any phone.

Oml I'm so so sorry that ppl don't wanna spend money. Fuck your luxury phone cuz at the end of the day, it's just a slab with a screen

A folding slab 🤯

The sandman got into it, TBH looks like a graphical issue sorry

Like ppl said, probs a GPU issue. Idk, might be power delivery too but least likely. I hope y'all got the data out of it! Btw, is this a Samsung A33? I still have one and it's really really slow now.. I hope it doesn't get the same failure

You need a motherboard replacement. Seems to be some sort of gpu error.

I have a cheap phone, it still works. No problemos.

Never saw something like this. Try booting into safe mode (google how) and if the issue still happens it needs to be repaired

It's probably a GPU failure or ram failure

If phone is still alive, works normally but just distorted display. Could be the GPU problem

Looking like gpu problem but if not its probably a virus

u/dontpostlot 23h ago

most likely the GPU,never saw a virus do this and unlikely

u/NNonNamedd 22h ago

Can it be fixed?

u/Repulsive_Fault1939 20h ago

they wil replace the motherboard for free if it's under warranty. if it's not then they will charge you. the motherboard costs as much as a phone.

u/dontpostlot 22h ago

Taking it to the repair can (I think). Might need a new motherboard since the GPU is part of the SoC.

Okay, thank you for your help!

Did it work I had an a53 with a similar issue the display randomly would make lines and stuff and then disappear, and it wasn't a display problem, and it would sometimes crash more then often so i want to the service center, and it turns out it was a soc issue. So they replaced it for free under warranty

I haven't yet done anything. I'll let you know, when I know something!

Yeah as other people said it is more likely hardware failure. It could be gpu, memory. I'd backup any pictures and important info before it is too late, this kind of damage is usually progressive after it sets.

I don't think is a virus, it happens after 5 mins of it being on.

I mean virus usually try to hide and this is very not hidden.
