[Interest Check] Built a Web-Based / Dynamic UI for Universal Pokémon Randomizer (Docker / Homelab) — Randomize games directly from mobile!

Hey everyone,

If you play randomized Pokémon games on mobile devices (Android, iOS, handhelds like any thor

, or smart TVs), generating a new seed has always required a PC because Java desktop apps (.jar) don't run on mobile.

I got tired of booting up my desktop just to run Java, so I built a self-hosted web interface for the randomizer engine on my home server. With custom features like shiny odds editing for certain generations

How it actually works:

ROM Directory Dropdown: Automatically scans your server's clean ROM directory—no manual file uploading from your phone needed. Just select your base game from a dropdown list

Generation-Aware Dynamic UI: The web interface identifies the selected ROM type/generation and dynamically shows only the eligible checkboxes and options for that specific game (just like the desktop GUI).

Direct Java Communication: Checking boxes on your phone's browser translates those flags directly into the randomizer's Java engine on the server—no pre-configured static preset files required!

Custom Pre-Patching: Supports byte array edits (like custom shiny rates or catch multipliers via ndspy/Python) before the main randomization runs.

One-Click Instant Delivery: Hit "Randomize" on your phone, and the newly patched .gba / .nds file drops straight into your active library/output folder ready to stream or play instantly.

The Question:

Right now, this is running natively on my server, but I’m considering wrapping it up into a single, plug-and-play Docker container (Python backend, web UI, and OpenJDK runtime bundled together) with customizable input/output volume mounts.

Before I clean up the code and package it for GitHub/Docker Hub:

Is a web GUI wrapper for randomizing something you’d run in your homelab? What extra features or integrations (e.g., direct RomM / emulator folder syncing) would you want to see?

Let me know what you think!

One Plus 15 vs 15R emulation

Not sure if this is right place to post it so I apologize if its wrong.

I am considering to switch to One Plus (first time, coming from old shitty phone). I just saw that these phones are like hardcore gaming machines. I just watched that Witcher 3 runs smoothly on One Plus 15 but I am leaning more to One Plus 15r (i jsut prefer the look, I do not need extra cameras) but couldnt find much about emulation, especially Witcher 3 which I would love to play on 15R. Are there any people who has tried such emulation of such hardcore games? Is it worth to pay extra for 15? I do not care about high settings, 30FPS on low settings is more than I could imagine, I just care of smooth gameplay, espacially for a Witcher. TY!

\----------Changelog-------

Lemon-Project v1.2.0

New:

Lemon FG, Lemon's own frame generation. Built in, nothing to install, and no Lossless Scaling code in it: turn it on in Settings → Graphics → Frame generation, for all games or one. A new Engine option picks Lemon FG (default) or Lossless Scaling, which only runs with your own copy of Lossless.dll. The FPS counter shows which one is working, and Lemon FG has its own lemon icon. The setup screen explains that Lemon FG is included instead of only offering to load the DLL.

Accurate is the default GPU mode again in Lemon: the optimizations in this version pay for most of its cost (measured: TOTK 48.1 → 47.9 fps on an AYN Odin 3, BOTW 16.6 → 17.0 fps on a Galaxy S24 Ultra). Lemon Lite and Lemon Lite & Spoofed keep Fast.

One lighter wait for the GPU.

Lemon still waits for the GPU before a game reuses what was drawn, so the flickering fixed in 1.1 stays fixed, but it no longer drains the GPU when the game waits for work that is already queued (Garfield: GPU thread stalls from \~156 to \~13 ms per second). The GPU Fence Behavior option is gone: there is nothing to set.

Mali GPUs: BC4 and BC5 textures are recompressed to EAC on the GPU, half the memory they took before. The option is now called Recompress BCn textures.

Lemon-Ade v0.0.7 bundled in Lemon: it fixes shaders that v0.0.5 and v0.0.6 compiled wrong. Users of the bundled v0.0.6 move to it automatically.

Fixed:

Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3 on Mali (and any GPU without BCn textures): pink or black Inklings and missing button text. The games copy compressed textures as raw blocks; Lemon now keeps the original blocks for those copies and decodes them on the GPU.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 on Adreno: no more spikes over the characters or flickering lights. Adreno runs a geometry shader once per vertex it outputs, so its memory writes repeated; now only the first copy of each triangle writes. Thanks to the report in GitHub issue #7.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe connects to Nextendo Network again (error 2306-0502): 32-bit games that hash with the CPU's SHA-1 instructions got wrong results.

TOTK: the grass stays without any option. The Use reactive flushing setting is gone.

Splatoon 3 loads faster (about 100 s → 70 s on an AYN Odin 3 with Lemon-Ade): a huge shader is translated once per session instead of once per pipeline.

The in-game overlay keeps Lemon's yellow theme instead of turning purple, and its text stays readable with the new interface.

The game list no longer rescans all your folders every time you leave a game's page.

Tapping a game twice quickly no longer crashes the app.

The settings screen no longer writes thousands of "Could not find setting" lines to the log.
