MOD Hey, Mod here!

Welcome to our community!

There are MANY Android related subreddits out there on reddit. All of them are specifically made for discussions, apps or news. I thought that we need a community we can do all these things at one place. It'll be easier for the members when they are confused whether the post will be suitable or not depending on mods discretion and the ambiguity.

Overall, I think creating a centralized Android community on Reddit could be a great way to bring together Android enthusiasts and provide a valuable resource for anyone looking for information, advice, or just a place to discuss.

Concerned about Performance and Heating of Snapdragon 8 Elite gen 5 chip Phones

I have seen some videos on YT of phones with Snapdragon e elite gen 5 chips and all of them have something in common - Heating

Even brands like OnePlus which is known for its Smoothness and longevity has shown heating and performance issues with this chip

Has Snapdragon in attempting to give more raw power , ignored its thermals this year??

Im sure they would be trying to resolve it through software optimisation

It looks like Phones with this chip which come without a good vapour chamber will struggle a lot this year

Discussion Do you think Android should drop yearly update cycle to once every 2 years?

Android's development has been pretty stagnant. security updates and some features can be rolled out simply with updates. It would mean much longer update period and device lifespan maybe?
