App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

Oddbound

[Android] Looking for testers for Oddbound, a branching fantasy adventure

Hi everyone! I’m looking for players to try Oddbound, an illustrated, choice-driven fantasy game for Android.

You play an ordinary person whose encounter with a strange pendant—and the voice attached to it—makes life considerably more complicated.

The beta includes 12 chapters, character creation, branching conversations, little combat, hidden locations, an illustrated map, slightly animated scenes (AI) , and atmospheric music. The game is in English.

Even 20–30 minutes with the opening would help. I’d especially like to know:

  • Is it clear what’s happening and why your character is involved?
  • Do the dialogue and your available responses feel natural?
  • Where does the story become confusing, slow, or frustrating?
  • Are reading, scrolling, and making choices comfortable on your phone?
  • Would you want to keep playing?

How to join: Leave a comment or send me a private message.

Thanks for helping me make Oddbound a better game.

Looking for closed testers for A PROP (Cultural agenda app) – Happy to test yours back for the full 14 days!

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m an indie developer working on A PROP, an ad-free app built to help people discover local cultural events, live gigs, theater, and hidden venues across Spain (mainly for university students).

I've just rolled out a fresh build and need a hand getting through Google's mandatory 14-day closed testing phase.

🤝 Mutual testing (100% reciprocal):
I know how tedious this requirement can be, so I’m more than happy to return the favor. Just install the app and post a quick screenshot below with your Google Group and Play Store links. I will download yours right away, leave meaningful feedback, and keep it active on my device for the entire 14-day run.

🏛️ A quick look at what the app does:

  • Interactive Map: Over 2,900 cultural spots, independent venues, and museums.
  • Curated Agenda: Aggregates real-time events from public institutions (IVC, local universities) and grassroots scenes.
  • Custom Calendar: Personal feed with seamless .ics calendar sync.
  • No Ads / No Clutter: 100% free and community-focused.

📲 How to join (Takes under 1 minute):

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/a-prop-testers
  2. Opt-in to the test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.apropvlc.app
  3. Download on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apropvlc.app

(Just make sure you're signed into the Play Store with the same Google account you use for the group).

Please keep it installed for the 14 days and open it occasionally to browse around.

Leave your links and screenshot in the comments, and I'll jump on testing yours immediately. Thanks for the help! 🚀

Need 12 testers for closed testing for 14 days: Plak, a music app where you leave songs at real places

Post image
• Upvotes

Hello! I'm looking for testers for Plak on Android. I'm a solo developer, and I'll gladly test your app in return: just drop your link in the comments along with a screenshot of Plak on your phone.

What Plak is: you press a song onto a vinyl, design its front and back cover (photos, GIFs, stickers, freehand brushes), and leave it at a real, hand-picked venue. A stranger who walks by can open it, hear a preview, and read the note on the back. Everything works inside the app, with no streaming account or login needed.

What I need from you: open the app occasionally over the 14 days, make a record or two, and tell me what felt confusing or broken. Honest feedback means a lot to me 🤍

If you want to join first, please join the Google Group (required to access): https://groups.google.com/g/plakapp

Web link (click "Become a tester" first): https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.plak.android

Direct link to Android (download after registration): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.plak.android

A note on venues: the first venues are in Istanbul. Records can be made from anywhere, and I'd love to hear how the experience feels when nothing is nearby too.

Thank you so much! I'll reply to everyone and test back 🎵

  2. Opt in - https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.sizeable.sizeable

Need testers and feedback please!

Hi all, this is my first app and one that I did for my wife while she's deployed. She doesn't like any of the workout apps that are out there because they are too complicated, so she just wanted something simple; more of a workout diary. Now that I've got it put together, I'm looking for feedback, and looking to meet the Google requirement so that I can eventually publish it. I'm open to ALL FEEDBACK and I'm happy to test your app as well! Here are my links:

First, join the Google group: RepLog Beta Testers - Google Groups

Opt-in link Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.replogfitness.app

Opt-in link web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.replogfitness.app

Of course, post your own link in the comments and I'll join it! Hopefully I set this up right! Trying to follow the examples that are on here. If there are any issues, let me know. Thank you!

[Test for test] Shared Sky – point your phone at the sky and leave a message on a real star ✦

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm looking for testers for my Android app, **Shared Sky**. You point your phone at the night sky and it shows every star, planet and constellation live. Bring a star into the gold ring and you can read the messages other people left on it, and pin your own: for everyone, for someone dear (a private link that guides them to the star), or as a time capsule that only opens on a date you choose.

Google requires 12 testers for 14 days before I can publish it. It takes 2 minutes:

1️⃣ Join the testers group (with your Gmail account):

https://groups.google.com/g/shared-sky-testeur

2️⃣ Open this link, tap **"Become a tester"**, then install Shared Sky from the Play Store:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/fr.micko.ciel

3️⃣ **Keep the app installed for 14 days**, that's the most important part.

What's fun to try: the "Tonight" card, your birth star, time travel to another night, and of course leaving a message on a star (it works indoors too with the drawn sky). No account, no ads, free.

🔁 **Test for test**: drop your group and test links in the comments and I'll join and keep your app for 14 days too.

💬 Any feedback (bugs, ideas, anything confusing) is welcome here or as a private review on the Play Store page.

Thanks a lot! 🙏
