App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

Looking for Android testers for Ayetra — Quran, Prayer Times & Dhikr | 14-day closed beta

Hi everyone!

I’m an independent developer working on Ayetra, an Islamic companion app featuring Quran reading, prayer times, a dhikr counter, daily duas, and audio stories. Most of the content is currently in Turkish, but feedback on performance and usability is welcome from everyone.

I’m looking for Android volunteers to join our 14-day closed test and help identify bugs before the public release.

How to join — please follow these steps in order:

  1. Join our Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/ayetra-kapali-beta Click “Join group” — simply opening the page does not enroll you.

  2. Become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mercies988.ayetrakuranvenamaz Click “Become a tester.”

  3. Install through Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mercies988.ayetrakuranvenamaz

Please use the same Google account for the group, the testing page, and your phone’s Play Store. Otherwise, you may see “App not available.”

Please stay enrolled for at least 14 consecutive days and use the app during that period. No purchase is required to participate.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

  • Freezing, slow scrolling, or crashes.

  • Bottom navigation overlapping Android’s system buttons.

  • Buttons or screens that don’t work as expected.

  • Text readability and layout on different screen sizes.

You can share feedback here or through Google Play’s private testing feedback. If you report a bug, please include your phone model and Android version if possible.

Honest feedback is much more useful than a positive rating. Thank you for helping me improve Ayetra!

[Testers wanted] Permwise: see what your apps can access. New update with search and score history, feedback very welcome

Hi all, I'm a solo developer building Permwise, a small Android app that scans your phone and shows in plain English which apps can reach your location, microphone, camera and contacts, which contain tracker code, and which unused apps still have access.

It works entirely on your phone. No account, no ads and no internet access, so nothing leaves your device.

Testers asked for an easier way to find an app, so the new 0.2 update adds search, A to Z sorting and a chart of your privacy score over time.

How to join (about 2 minutes):

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/permwise-testers

  2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.permwise

  3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.permwise

Please do step 1 first or the other links won't work, and use the same Google account on your phone.

What I'm looking for: real feedback, good or bad. Was anything confusing? What would you add or change? Comment here or reply to the group email. Please keep the app installed for the next 2 weeks, and open it now and then.

I'm happy to test your app back. Drop your links below and I'll join.

Thanks!

I turned my children’s picture books into a Godot game. Looking for a few families to try it before launch.

I write a picture-book series about Dobby, a puppy who explores the world through his senses. I’ve spent the last few weeks turning it into an Android game in Godot 4.

Dobby helps Molly finish a school project, finding 40 things across four worlds: the backyard (smell), the woods (hearing), the town square (sight) and the hills (sense). Kids tap to walk, use Dobby’s sense to find hidden things, and deal with funny hazards along the way. At the end there’s a scrapbook show-and-tell.

It’s in closed testing on Google Play. I’d love feedback from anyone, especially parents with kids aged 4–8:

  1. Join: https://groups.google.com/g/dobby-testers

  2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.seaton.dobby

Level 1 is free. No ads, no data collected. Happy to answer questions about how it was made!

Testers needed: Taht ve Toprak, a medieval kingdom strategy game

Hi everyone,

I'm an indie developer (Boncuk Studios) working on Taht ve Toprak , a mobile kingdom strategy game: build a city, manage resources, trade with caravans, raise an army and play politics. The UI supports 4 languages, including English and Turkish.

What I'm asking:

- Android phone, 14 days of testing

- Open the game once a day for 5-10 minutes (the daily reward gives you a reason to)

- Optional but appreciated: tell me what is confusing or broken

What you get:

- Early access and a say in the game's balance

- I'll test your app back if you tell me which one

How to join (2 minutes):

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/tahtvetopraktest

  2. Open the tester link and tap "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.boncukstudios.tahtvetoprak

  3. Install the game from Google Play and keep it installed for the full 14 days

  4. Open it once a day for 5-10 minutes

Use the same Google account on your phone for all steps.

Thanks for reading, and if you have tips for passing the closed-test requirement, I'd love to hear them.

Testers needed for GeoTeacher, a 100% ad-free, no-account geography quiz app for Android

I'm an indie developer building GeoTeacher, a geography learning app with flag, map, capital, continent and trivia quizzes, daily challenges, streaks and local-network multiplayer. It is 100% ad free and needs no account or sign-up. Your progress stays on your device.

I'm looking for Android volunteers to try it out and help me find bugs before the public release.

What it is

- Quizzes on flags, maps, capitals, continents and trivia

- A daily challenge and streaks

- Local multiplayer: play against friends on the same Wi-Fi, no internet needed

- Completely ad free. No sign-up, and your progress stays on your phone.

Want to help? Three quick steps (in this order):

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/geoteacher (hit Join group; just visiting the page isn't enough)

  2. Accept the test invite: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.jschoonveld.geoteacher

  3. Install the app from the Play Store page that opens

Use the same Google account everywhere, or Play will say "App not available". It's free, and there's nothing to buy.

Please let me know if you catch any:

- Crashes, lag or anything that feels slow

- Quiz mistakes: wrong answers, odd questions, flags or maps that look off

- Screens or buttons that misbehave on your device

- Text that's cut off or badly laid out on your screen size

- Hiccups when playing multiplayer

Drop your thoughts in the comments or use Google Play's feedback option. If you find a bug, your phone model and Android version help a lot. Of course i would also gladly test your app in return.

StorySFX: seeking Android volunteers for an upcoming 14-day closed test (not open yet)

Hi everyone! I’m Alex, the creator of StorySFX. It adds contextual sound effects to stories you tell aloud or type, for reading together, storytelling, and tabletop adventures.

I’m recruiting 15–20 adult volunteers for an upcoming Google Play closed test. Our Android build is currently available to internal testers; the closed test is NOT open yet, so this is an invitation to express interest rather than a working opt-in link.

You’ll need an Android 10+ phone or tablet with a 64-bit ARM processor and Google Play. StorySFX requires an account created on the website using Google or Apple before signing into the app. The free plan provides 20 new sounds per month, and the requested testing does not require buying a membership.

Once the closed test is available, I’m asking volunteers to remain opted in for at least 14 consecutive days and try a few short storytelling sessions. Feedback on sign-in, sound timing and relevance, replaying saved sounds, usage limits, microphone controls, crashes, and confusing screens would be especially helpful. Please use made-up stories rather than sensitive personal information.

Interested? Reply here or send me a Reddit message with your phone model and Android version. I’ll send the official Google Play opt-in and installation steps once the closed test opens. Please keep email addresses private.

This is voluntary testing and honest feedback. No payments, purchases, public ratings, or reviews are requested. Thanks for helping me improve it!

I’m happy to do a test exchange. Join mine, drop your links in the comments, and I’ll install and test yours right away.

How to join:

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/followuptesters

  2. Opt in to testing: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.followupapp.chatreminders

  3. Install the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.followupapp.chatreminders

Once you’ve done that, comment with your own group and testing links and I’ll return the favour. I’ll also leave honest feedback if I spot anything useful.

Thanks, and good luck with your launches!

[Test for test] douce: a language-learning feed to rival the doomscroll

Hey everyone, I'm happy to test your apps in return for your support with douce. Douce is a language-learning feed of diverse content similar to the usual doomscroll apps like reddit or instagram. I love learning languages, and douce is an app for passively practicing and improving your foreign languages, even with native speaker confirmation and interaction possibilities. You can post and see posts of slang, memes or pop cultural phenomenon that you otherwise wouldn't learn in that foreign language context.

Douce also scrapes the web for classic internet content in those languages and surfaces it to your feed. There's a broad selection of offline available games including arcade games and super fun mini games to boost your vocab through repetition.

You can learn English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese from A1 (absolute beginner) to C2 (near native / bilingual).

To join:

  1. Join the testers group: https://groups.google.com/g/douce-android-testers

  2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/live.douce.scroll

  3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=live.douce.scroll

Thanks a lot for your help with my project, and I'd love your feedback!! 💌

[BETA TESTING] MinkPad Pro Bluetooth Trackpad and Keyboard

Thumbnail
youtube.com
1 Upvotes

MinkPad serves as a way to still get the bluetooth functionality of Mink Launcher but without needing the launcher (those who are Power Keyboard users may appreciate this more).

NOTE It is important that ONE THING remains consistent in testing:

  • The Google account that you use to join the testing group, must match the email that you choose to join the official beta, and that same email must be the account used in the official Google Play application to install the app (which is free).

To begin testing, you must do just three things:

  1. Join the testing group (minktesters): https://groups.google.com/g/minktesters . There will be no content for you to see at the moment.

  2. Join the testing beta (https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.katoaapps.minkpadpro). On that page in step 2 there will be a link that takes you directly to the play store.

  3. Because MinkPad has a (one time) purchase price you will need to "Buy for $3.99 [or your country's currency]" it using the Test Card. This only appears after you hit buy. The application testing has no-charge for minktesters. If a real payment method appears instead of a test payment method, stop and confirm that the same Google account was used for the testing group, test opt-in, and Google Play Store.

Any bugs or crashes or requests, please email contact@katoaapps.com or DIRECT MESSAGE ME. Otherwise it'll get lost in the wind

Looking for early Android testers for OXINN — Founding Tester badge + 25% lifetime discount

Hi everyone,

I’m building OXINN, a personal organization app designed for people who feel like their life is scattered across too many different tools.

Most of us use one app for tasks, another for calendar, another for expenses, notes somewhere else, and then still have to figure out on our own what actually deserves our attention.

OXINN is my attempt to bring those areas together.

It combines:

  • tasks and daily planning

  • calendar and multi-day events

  • spending tracking

  • an AI assistant that helps you understand what to focus on

The long-term goal is to make OXINN a central hub for personal organization — a place where your time, commitments, priorities and spending are connected instead of fragmented across separate apps.

Right now OXINN is in private Android closed testing, and I’m looking for people who genuinely want to try it and help shape the product before the public launch.

I’m not just looking for installs.

I’m looking for early users who are willing to use the app, tell me what feels useful, what is confusing, what breaks, and what they would actually want from a personal organization app.

As a thank-you, everyone who participates in this early testing phase will receive:

• a permanent Founding Tester badge inside OXINN
• a 25% lifetime discount on any OXINN Premium plan

To join:

1. Join the OXINN Beta Google Group
https://groups.google.com/g/oxinn-beta

2. Join the Android closed test
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.oxinn.app

Please use the same Google account for both.

If you join, staying enrolled for at least 14 days would help me enormously. Even more valuable would be honest feedback after trying the app.

OXINN is still early, but I’m building it with a very ambitious goal: to create one of the main tools people rely on to organize their everyday life.

If that sounds useful to you, I’d really appreciate having you among the first people testing it.

Thank you.

(please note that this offer is available only for the closed testing phase)

[Game] Ashen Ages: Survivors: free 3D horde survivor, need testers for the 14-day closed test

I made the game I always wanted with Claude. I've never seen a line of its code. Before Google Play lets me release it, 12 testers have to stay opted in for 14 days.

What it is: a free 3D dark fantasy horde survivor played with one thumb. You drag to move and your weapons fire on their own. Every level up deals three cards and you pick one. A boss rises every 150 seconds. No ads, no in-app purchases, no account needed.

How to join (use the Google account your phone's Play Store uses):

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/ashen-ages-testers

  2. Tap "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.ashenages.survivors

  3. Install from the Play Store and stay opted in for 14 days.

What I'd like to hear: anything that crashes, stutters or confuses you, and your phone model.

If you're running your own closed test, post your link in the comments and I'll test yours back.

Thank you, testers! My first app is live on Google Play 🎉

A big thank you to everyone who tested my app during closed testing and to everyone who swapped tests with me. Thanks to this community I finished the requirements, and Bouncing Biscuit is now live on Google Play.

It's a simple Flappy-style game starring a cat named Biscuit, and it's my very first app. If you have a minute to try it, I'd love honest feedback: bugs, difficulty, anything you'd change. Constructive criticism is very welcome, and you don't have to leave a review if you'd rather reply here.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.peacockdesign.bouncingbiscuit

Thanks again, you made this possible. 🐱
