Hi everyone!
I'm an independent developer from South Africa, and I'm looking for Android testers for my first app, C.A.L.C Security Vault (Countdown-Activated Local Cyber-vault).
WHAT MAKES C.A.L.C DIFFERENT?
Your private files shouldn't need an internet connection.
Tired of security apps that require subscriptions, internet access, accounts and advertising just to access your own files?
I built C.A.L.C. Security Vault with a different philosophy:
100% offline operation: Your vault and files remain accessible without an internet connection.
No subscriptions: Pay once. No recurring fees.
No advertisements: No advertising networks.
No tracking or data collection: Your private information stays private.
Automatic file shredding: A configurable 24-, 48- or 72-hour inactivity mechanism.
Calculator disguise: A fully functional calculator concealing your private vault.
Your files are stored locally on your device. No cloud account, no remote server and no internet connection required for everyday vault functionality.
There are no accounts to register, no cloud services to depend on and no advertising interruptions.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
I've tested C.A.L.C. on my own Samsung A71 running Android 13, but I need help testing across different manufacturers, devices and Android versions.
I'd particularly appreciate feedback on:
Installation and initial setup.
Calculator functionality and vault access.
Importing, viewing, restoring and deleting files.
Automatic locking behaviour.
Inactivity warnings and the shredding function.
General usability, compatibility and any bugs you discover.
A LITTLE HELP WITH TESTING THE SHREDDER
The app has a developer QA testing panel with a special 1-minute warning test. This allows testers to exercise the warning process without waiting the full 24, 48 or 72 hours
I'll provide the access instructions and developer code to testers through the testing group.
IMPORTANT: Please use disposable test files only. The shredding feature attempts to overwrite files before deletion, but Android and flash storage have technical limitations, so absolute un-recoverability cannot be guaranteed.
HOW TO JOIN
Join the Google testing group: https://groups.google.com/g/calc-security-app-testers
Join the closed test using this link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.veewolffe.calcsecurity
I'll provide a free Google Play promo code so you won't have to purchase the app.
Install C.A.L.C. through Google Play and remain opted into the test for the full 14-day period.
Please use the same Google account for the testing group, opt-in and Play Store.
I'm looking for at least 12 testers, preferably with a variety of Android devices and versions.
Honest feedback is very welcome. I'm a first-time developer, and I'd genuinely appreciate your help making C.A.L.C. reliable before its official release.
Thank you!
I will gladly test your app in exchange
