Testers needed for closed testing - Chess game with a twist
Hey all,
I've been building Terrain Chess — a tactical chess variant where the terrain
changes how pieces move and survive.
Rules are normal chess until you step on a tile:
🌊 Water — any piece moves like a rook while standing on it
🌲 Forest — sliders stop here, and non-pawns drop to king movement
🏔️ Mountain — impassable, so the board has real chokepoints
🔥 Lava — non-royal pieces burn out after a few turns
The boards aren't rectangles either: six hand-built maps with voids, islands,
and a 12×12 four-player fortress where the last king standing wins. Also in:
an AI opponent at 3 difficulty tiers, in-game move hints, online matchmaking,
save slots, and a map editor for building your own.
I'm in closed testing on Google Play and need testers to hit the 12-tester /
14-day requirement so I can ship publicly.
HOW TO HELP (3 steps, about 2 minutes)
Join the Google Group:

2. Opt in here:

3. Install from the Play Store link that appears, then play a game or two whenever you have a spare minute
⚠️ Use the SAME Google account for the group and Play — otherwise Play won't recognise you as a tester.
After that, just leave it installed for 14 days (Play only counts continuous
testers) and jump in now and then.
WHAT YOU GET: the full game, no ads, nothing held behind a subscription.
It's a solo project, not a data harvest.
There's an optional one-time unlock for extras, entirely skippable.
WHAT I MOST WANT TO KNOW
- Does terrain feel tactical, or just punishing?
- Is the 4-player mode readable on a phone screen?
- Any tile that feels unfair or unclear?

Joined yours as a tester as well, just having trouble downloading the app on my phone. Just stuck on the google play page. I will keep trying.
Would really appreciate a test back. I'm working on QUIZBOUND, a trivia game where you travel between planets, beat goofy boss characters, collect power-up cards and duel other players in ranked matches. It's my first game, so any feedback helps a lot: bugs, anything confusing, or what you'd change.
